Has Anyone Received Anything Nice from Their Boss for Long Service

Ask a Question

My partner has been in his job for 10 years today and his boss bought him a TAG watch ⌚️ 😳 for being the longest serving employees

Has anyone else received any nice gift from work places

I've recently retired and worked for two bosses, they did send me a beautiful bunch of flowers, two colleagues also got me flowers and wine and fudge from a third, and a history book from a fourth. They were a nice bunch of people but will keep in touch with a couple of them.

My partner & I are both Support Workers for the same company, different areas of Sheffield & different Management.

I have been there 4 years 7 month & my partner 30 years 1 month..

We get £100 after 5 years & £250 after 30..

We would rather have a decent increase in our wages...

Never really had a gift as i dont stay in jobs longer than a few years. When my dad retired he got a lump sum to spend on a gift for himself and chose to get a hand made dulcimer.

None when I worked most of the work dont care they just find someone new at less pay very little care & celebrate 5 years or 10 years even some of them who do they just give gift vouchers which is not worth when you can only spend at participating stores which is not where most people shop

It should be a common practice to acknowledge 5 years or 10 years of service it gives the sense of belonging to employees by giving either money or something useful which can be used

In my last job I got a florist bunch of flowers and I think either chocolates or a bottle of wine for 10 years.

They use to give £250 premium bonds for 20 years.

My current firm does nothing

The longest I've been in a job was 4 years. The boss organised a leaving party and paid for drinks. Even gave me £100 when I got married. Every other place I've worked has given me a leaving gift. Once the boss gave me a spa voucher, I was getting married the next month so thought it might relax me! The other places have been flowers, chocolate or wine. I remember getting wine as a leaving present when I was pregnant! To be fair I hadn't told them so not their fault.

I have never at a place of work long enough to receive a gift but my mum was presented a carriage clock years ago. She thinks it’s worth something but I’m not too sure. It stopped working once so she took it to get looked at but on the walk it repaired itself and has worked ever since.

kate1310 ...My sister has worked for the Co op since she was 16,she's 59 now!

She has worked in 4 different branches in various roles including Shop Assistant, Team Leader & Assistant Manager, she has done some of her old Manager's work too & he showed his appreciation by sharing his Christmas Bonus with her.

My sister was diagnosed with Rhuamatiod Arthritis,14 years ago but she's not going to let that get the better of her, she can put a lot of her younger colleagues to shame..

One of her Mangers turned around & told her he didn't know how she moved big crates when he struggled ,he was 37,she was late 50's,he was healthy, she has Rhuamatiod Arthritis!!!
