Can Anyone Recommend a Good Diet Struggling Trying to Lose some Pounds?
Ask a Question
Put weight on after lockdown,Christians etc. My will power is nil! Want to loose some pounds before Summer any suggestions?
Loads of hype and 6,938,729,762,376+ diets out there but I think the general rule is to expend more calories than you consume.
Definitely need to exercise as muscle burns more calories.
I wouldn’t exclude any foods like chocolate as it will only make you crave it more. I eat some everyday but it’s just one square of 70% dark chocolate and that gives me my fix. Have it with some almonds, pumpkin seeds and raisins for mid morning snack.
Just try to eat clean foods made from scratch. Don’t eat processed diet foods classed as “low fat” as they’re often not healthier as it’s loaded with other rubbish.
If you have sugar in hot drinks try to cut down on it. Drink lots of water if you can.
Good luck!
I found that once I started eating in the morning it was hard to stop and I would munch a lot before evening main meal. So I tried not to eat until later in the day and then ate more or less what I liked (but not junk) between 5 and 7pm. It got easier and easier and I didn't feel hungry but had plenty of water or drinks without sugar.
I am not recommending this as a diet as I am sure it would not suit many people, but it worked for me. I now eat twice a day, just a small bowl of healthy cereal or a slice of toast, then I wait for my evening meal filling up with lots of veg with whatever I am having.
Lynibis this sounds like me once I start I can't stop I going to.give it a go !thank you so much your a star!
I suggest good nutrition and exercise rather than dieting as this should be enough and lasts long-term
Consumer vet wise words thank you so much for taking the time to answer you are right!
Don't think of it as diet instead set little goals like less sugar or just handful sweets
Smaller plate moment you restrict yourself and such is when likely to cave and instead of one slice cake it's half cake etc.
Also one bad day isn't gonna mess it all up get back on track and don't be harsh on yourself.
Also don't go by scales measure yourself as can look like put on weight or stayed same yet clothes are loose fitting.
Everything in moderation and you can have carbs just again everything in moderation.
If you can't excercise like go gym as I don't I can't afford to plus self conscious, look on YouTube for easy workouts, Joe wicks is good for beginners and also other levels.
If excercise fills with dread then bang on music and do it around cleaning house if helps and walking is free set little goals like getting off a stop earlier ( only if safe and not dark etc) taking stairs.
Don't be fooled by the fat free items as some contain more sugar and salt then normal.
I lost 3 and half stone last year. I did it by exercising and cutting down what I ate. I didn't cut out any foods, I just had less of everything. To lose weight they recommend that you eat 1400 calories a day and then exercise on top of that. I didn't do anything special, I just walked loads.
Get good sleep and avoid stress, both of these things help your body to digest better. Promote relaxation in your life by doing gentle movement or meditation, healthy mind equals healthy body
I did the special K/Just Right cereal diet some time ago, you have normal meal for lunch but have cereal for breakfast and dinner.
I also lost about 1/2 stone just from not snacking and drinking water or having a cup of tea instead I call it Cake weight
I did do the slim diet and was very strict with what I ate but I also done a lot of walking and Zumba indoors. It worked but when you go back to your old normal it all comes back again.
