Bad Customer Service, What Can You Do?
Other
So wanting to favour small business I ordered a pizza from a small local business instead of my usual Dominoes or Pizza hut but when it arrived it was the wrong pizza!! So I called them, told them it wasn't what I'd paid for and they were very rude about it, and said, "Well you'll have to bring it into store to prove to us it's the wrong pizza and only then will we swap it". Like what??? Why can't you just send the one I've paid for??? So in the end I was like, if I just keep the wrong one will you give me a discount or something? She replied rudely, "I can give you 10% off, but that really is pushing it." No thanks, you were atleast 10% more expensive than Dominoes in the first place, I'll just go there next time
See if that company is on CEO Email, then send an email if it's on there.
Besides that, write a Trustpilot review and.. never visit that crappy pizza store again.
If it's just a small local business, then it might eventually close down if more people complain they're not doing their job correctly. In case it's a pop up store, it makes it more evident.
Hmm that's a good idea. It is a well established business in a small town. And I feel bad for them because they were the only pizza shop for 20years and then a year ago Dominoes moved to the same town so they probably are struggling now. But I just think it's so rude to not believe that they made a mistake and me have to practically beg them to correct their mistake. I don't want to ruin their business but that just isn't good business
Tasha042 Sometimes, some business only learn the hard way and only then will they get it right. If they actually do.
Don't feel bad for posting a negative review, it was your experience and it counts.
Yes I think you're right. Maybe they'll improve their complaints procedure otherwise they will just go under anyway. I definitely won't be using them again after that.
It's a shame because most small businesses go above and beyond in customer service as they have to compete with 'the big boys' and I always try to support them wherever possible. But this attitude is a joke. I hope it was someone in charge that you spoke to. I'm afraid I would hit the reviews - google, trip adviser etc - all the big boys. Don't bitch just state the facts. If they have half an ounce of business sense they will bend over backwards to make you one of their best customers.
Hmm yes that's the thing. I don't want to post it on Facebook because that really can break a business but I will see if I can find them on another site like that. It was the Shift manager I spoke to. I think it annoys me more as I worked in catering 6years ago and I was always apologising to people, getting them replacement food no questions asked. Where I worked had the ethos that the customer is always right basically. I never refused to believe the customer, that's just arrogant
Tasha042 I would never post a grievance in facebook as it personalises the complaint. I agree that any bad reviews can potentially ruin a business, but they do have a responsibility to provide a good service if they wish to continue trading and perhaps became complacent when they were the only place in town and need a kick up the @*%!. Good luck!
Hmm yes they probably do still have a lot of loyal locals so they don't feel the need to go above and beyond. I've posted my review on trip advisor, turns out I wasn't the first person to have that same experience and one person had to wait 2hours for their pizza! Shocking!
If I get really poor customer service I just don't buy anything from them again. One of the benefits of living in a large city is you're not short of choice.
You can make picture from their pizza. Write feedback online, that people will know how the service is.
Try to order true Just eat or Deliver or if not pay with PayPal so it is secure and they will have their terms and conditions.
It really depends on just how upset/annoyed you are. I'd be tempted to put it down to them just having an off day to be honest but if you want to persevere with it I would email or if they have a local facebook page try sending them a pm - I'd give them the chance to fix it before you go public - and not be confrontational in the first instance. Something along the lines of how you appreciate that this probably isn't common practice for them but you wanted to support a local business and you're disappointed that you didn't get what you ordered and when you queried it that you were spoken to rudely. They *ought* to write back, be hugely apologetic and offer you something in return. If they don't you can then hit the review sites (and can also add to your review 'refused to take my complaint seriously')
