The Cheapest Roast in the UK?
In the News
So this place in Margate charges £1 for a roast, but with the condition you spend at least £3 on drinks - so that’s £4 for a Sunday dinner, which is very cheap

Most of the roasts being served near me exceeds £10 per plate, and that does not include drinks
How much do you pay for the roasts near you?
£1? that's very cheap, and definitely not what a roast normally costs. They must be making loads from the drinks. I find the usual price for a roast is about £10-12, unless you go to a Toby Carvery where it is a standard £7.95
I do love the carvery, but my nearest one is quite far, so I don’t go often. But one day I will try this one in Margate
When I did some bar work I was told that the syrup in the cola and other drinks dispensed from the machine cost about 1p to 5p per shot but sold for £1.20 per small glass. Yes, there is lots of profit on drinks.
all of the restaurants have overpriced drinks, so yeah the main point is to get people in to have food and of course they will drink too.
I’ve not paid that price for a carvery for ages. It’s gone up to £7.95 and I don’t get any discount vouchers anymore, but they’ve got their rewards system in place
£1 in Iceland that's the cheapest I know of... but it doesn't taste great :/ that's only problem
Very expensive....£10....u can get 3 chickens from that price, can u imagine how much roast u going to have if cook it for yourself?
Yeh I know, one of the reasons why I normally go for beef or lamb, if availabl. I’d think it’ll be wasted to get chicken, as that’s easy to do at home
i won a meat hamper on monday at a bingo hall it cost me £2 to play i got a chicken leg of lamb bacon x2 sausages 2 gamon stakes 2 pork stakes 1lb of mince lamb pork joint so i guess i win this one oh n 2 chicken breasts
