Chinese Stores

Other

In UK, this isn't really a thing but in a lot of European countries there are Chinese owned massive stores (they made contracts with the govts). At first, they were kinda cool to visit as they have plenty of products but as time passed, folks realized it was overpriced, low quality and went back shopping at respectable stores again.

Eh, a lot of items are made in China but you need to be cautious with the level of quality it has.

I personally avoid these Chinese stores cause I can get better deals at known stores and know the items will actually last for a good chunk of time.

garygemmell knows it all too well too.

Plus, if I can buy products made in countries around the West then I'll take that instead, it just gives me the impression the quality will be reasonably better and won't get somehow, some infection (garygemmell told me a story about how that went it was kinda funny but awful for the chick who went thru it).

Haha thanks for sticking me in it lol

Yeah true for most of the Chinese clothes stores in Slovakia where I live 6 months of the year but I have to admit most of the electronic stuff I have bought from China has been pretty rock solid but you need to know what to look out for and most of the stuff is under a tenner!

Biggclivedotcom on Youtube is the best reviewer for cheap electrical products in poundland and from China - his videos are always a hoot!

Just yesterday and moments ago I bought a bunch of items from Aliexpress but visit those said stores? Pass.

It does take a crazy amount of days to come so if i was in a rush, I'd just pay extra from a known shop around.

Rockman Depends how tight ye are - i am tight as a gnats so willing to wait for the month it usually takes to arrive but a lot of them are setting up distribution places in the uk where they will ship the stuff and say its coming from china to avoid tyhe import tax - its some sort of loophole to avoid paying tax.

garygemmell I try to spend as little as possible but then also get a good deal out of whatever it is. Like, I picked up roasted chicken today and tried going with the 1€ and 2€ packs but the real meaty ones were all 3€ and 4€, so I went with the 3€ one. lol

If I ever win the jackpot, I'll still be like this and won't overspend.

Rockman Haha me too I often mention this to my old army buddies how if we won the lottery we are so used to saving money it would be hard to not do it - You do know you can get 3 kilos of chicken breasts from Farmfoods for £10 - I buy em that way as I cook Thai almost nearly every night - saves a fortune although trip up the Chinese supermarket yesterday cost me £37 and I only went for a coupla bags of Kaffir lime leaves and some Thai fragrant rice - I am bad when i am out and see something tasty but hey ho I am back at the gym bodybuilding again so soon have that six pack back lol

Yeah, it is same in Hungary. They did so well, that they bought some stores now and they have department stores, with clothes and shoes. Some of the dresses are so cheap £3, £5 same with the shoes, no one can beat them. Also sometimes the quality is great too. If anyone visit these Eastern countries, recommend to check these out.

I guess it varies a lot. So much is produced in China the quality levels vary too. For example, Apple iPhones are made in China and personally I feel they are very high quality. Many of the high quality European branded products are manufactured in China as well. It seems to change on a product-by-product basis, but over the last decade quality as a whole really seems to be improving. You will always have the cheap tat, for which online reviews come in handy as a warning signal to avoid!
