Cleaning Sponges - Are Scrub Daddies/Mommies worth It?

Ask a Question

For £2.50, they’re quite pricy. However, they do work very well and have a happy face - and are very satisfying to use

Do you spend more on cleaning sponges? Or are you happy with the cheaper brands?

I just buy the cheapest Lidl own sponges. I don't use sponges that often so I don't see the point in buying expensive ones. I use cloths to clean so would rather spend a bit more on them than a sponge.

MrsCraig yes I find the Lidl and Aldi sponges quite good too, and costs less than the Spondex branded ones

hspexy I've been known to cut them in half so I get 2 sponges out of one. Small one lasts the same amount of time as a big one so saves me a bit of money as getting twice the amount.

hspexy I've been doing it for years. Usually only have to one pack of sponges a year. I saw it and thought I will give it a go and it worked.

I buy packs of 12 in Asda. Not the cheapest ones but probably 2nd cheapest. As long as they do the job.

I've bought them a couple of times, but I don't really think they're all that much better than the cheap sponges with the scourers on the back, so I probably won't buy again.

I just stick with the cheapest brands cause you tend to get loads in a pack and they last well enough. I also think it’s good to throw away sponges after a certain amount of time anyway.

I was only looking at these in B & M yesterday and though they were expensive and just gimmicky, to be honest we just use normal sponges nad cloths.
