Does anyone one else make things from old stuff to save a few Bob , ?
I've just made t cup bird feeders from old cups and saucers and the old bath plug chain , cost me nothing but time , and saved me buying bird feeders ( t cup ones are around £10 each on amazon )
Oh yeah, I keep the old jiffy bags from DVDs/games and then reuse them. If it's something small, then I cut it in half and then at the post office I get charged £1.80 to send it via 2nd Class Signed For than £2.32.
i made pirate outfits for the kids one year from old clothes no sewing just cutting and sword was a old cornflake box cut to shape and covered in tin foil
I make fidget toys. Old clean bottle, fill with cous cous and bits of ribbon, small toys etc, secure lid and tell kids that you have to find the hidden bits. Fun and cheap. Brilliant for people with autism as a soothing tool.
My dog loves to pull the stuffing out of things, so I give him a ball made from old socks stuffed inside each other. He loves pulling them all out. Even brings me a sock when he wants to play that game. I also cut and fold a toilet paper tube and hide a biscuit inside so they have to work out how to get the biscuit out. My other dog likes that game better than the sock one. It keeps them entertained, and doesn't cost anything as it's things I'd throw out anyway otherwise.
