How Do You Cut Your Toast/Sandwiches?

Ask a Question

Do you cut your cut your toast or sandwiches into squares, oblongs, triangles or another shape ? My children eat better when I cut them into triangles. Seems like there is less crust!

With sandwiches it's triangles, with toast it's oblong. I'm not sure why, I just prefer it that way.

I cut in half triangle wise. I then eat along the cut edge, often leaving a fair whack of the crusts, just like a big kid. To be honest I can understand why kids don't like eating crusts they are not very palatable.

I usually cut it into rectangles, but some sandwiches I prefer in triangles such as grilled cheese type sandwiches. Anything but triangles doesn’t seem right to me then!

depends on my mood .... oblongs, triangle or quarters ... or in a rush ... just halves!

If its sandwiches then usually oblongs but for toast I will usually not bother slicing it at all having a full slice. At the other extreme, when he was younger I often cut my sons marmite toasts into the letters of his name ZAK leaving me to eat the crusts and the cut offs. this one was from 2006!

Loving this idea especially if you have fussy eaters or it just makes it more interesting and fun for kids to eat.

If I were doing it for me it's either uncut or cut in half (don't care if it's diagonal or straight). Of doing it for my better half I vary cutting it but typically in to 4 bits

I got told off from my sons play school for cutting the crust off as I have a sandwiche cutters shaped as dinosaurs. Apparently it’s not far for the other kids

Totally wrong to be told off. My children have left school now, such a relief and life is so much better.

It has to be 2 big triangles all the time, taste better that way, or is that just psychological??! Unless it's for soldiers for dippy eggs! Ha ha!!

It varies. Depends on the shape of the loaf really.
