Dismissal Help
Ask a Question
I'm looking to find out if anyone is clued up in employment law and appeals against dismissal? Desperately needing some assistance
An employer needs to give two verbal warnings and a written final warning. Unless it is a case of theft or inappropriate personal behaviour. This is of course if the employee was a full time member of staff. Hope this helps.
EmmaWright762 Exactly what is the reason.
Employers do not need to give a written warning to terminate the contract but they must provide a sufficient evidence to justify their decision and must give an opportunity for an employee to respond.
They must give you a notice (normally a month, sometimes longer, but all is in your contract), but some conditions like for example a violent conduct can lead to immediate dismissal.
I suggest you go to ACAS www.acas.org.uk/advice for help. Find advice on employment law, HR processes and good practice at work. You can also contact the Acas helpline.
Maybe try Citizens advice, it's impossible for anyone on here to assist you as they don't have the full facts of what happened
The only way I can think of anyone being dismissed without notice Is gross misconduct. With this the employer should still give you a reason why they have dismissed you. You cant simply be dismissed without a reason. Have you tried HR? That Is what they get paid for. Or CAB as suggested above.
