Does Your Local Aldi Have Self Service Checkouts?

Does your local Aldi have self service checkouts?
I went to one today that didn't and much prefer being able to pack my stuff at my own pace at the self serve than being rushed through.
Mine does but always loads queuing . It's poorly organised as well .Many push and shove so you can hardly take time with other people tapping toes and breathing over your shoulder all the time.
No ours doesn't and I wouldn't want it to either. I don't find that I am being rushed through. I only use the self service in Asda when I only have one or two items so that people with bigger shops can use the manned checkout.
We have them but there only for a few bits bigger shop they say go to tills staff are very helpful in my local one
No, but if it did I'd not use and if that was the only way, I'd shop elsewhere.
I won't support self-checkout machines.
I have never seen a self service in Aldi. I do not shop in here much because of the way your food is thrown prefer Waitrose.
We were in Aldi last week and said it would be good if they had self service as we only buy a few items. So it’s good to hear they have started introducing it in some stores.
Our Aldi doesn't have self checkouts but does have wonderful staff. Never feel rushed and always very pleasant
Neither of the Aldis near us have them. Would be great to have them as there are always long queues and only either one or two checkouts open. Would be great if they either open all checkouts or install self checkouts incase they are short staffed.
No, I hope they don't get them either, it takes the personal interaction away and to some that might be their only contact with someone, also you don't get a friendly smile and help from self serve.
Yes we do and I love it especially when I only have a few items! If it’s quiet they are happy to let me take a full trolley through and do it at my own pace.
We have a nice new store near us with plenty of parking, self service checkouts and customer toilets, also electric charger points in the car park , much nicer than the old style Aldi store bigger, brighter and modern.
The Aldi nearest to me doesn’t have self scan tills. I would find it useful. There have been times when I only have 2-3 items and I have to wait in a queue behind people with part or full trolleys.
Yes the one closest to me has now got self service but I don’t think it’s any better than being served still have to queue
Thankfully my local Aldi doesn't have any. I've found that only too often with shops that do have them it's often required to wait for a member of staff to come and sanction some items. So often takes longer.
No luckily my local one doesn’t have them unlike the Lidl’s
I object to using them, they put people out of work, people steal to much using them (which ultimately the rest of us pay for) and if I go into a restaurant I don’t expect to go into the kitchen and cook the food so why should scan my own shopping.
Ours in Carlisle branches of the stores have had major till dramas on the self serve . customers have left and card transactions have not gone through and they left store ! Staff have had to go looking for them and cash has come back out of the machines as a coin was rejected so the money came back out when the next customer came to use it ! Pressed end on the till and out came the last customers cash !
A common misconception among self checkout haters is that they kill jobs. This simply isn't true. Staff are deployed to other areas and if anything self checkouts actually create jobs. They need people to maintain them as well as supervise them when in use.
I personally love being able to pack my shopping in whichever way I want, at my own pace and not having to engage in small talk when I don't feel like it. They also help to keep the queues down.
Times change.
No, ours does not, thank goodness. Asda and Morrisons do have them and self service means less staff! Less staff means less people to pay therefore more profit. Soon there will me no staff at the checkout, do it all yourself.
Oooh is self service new to Aldi??, mine doesn't have it and unless I'm buying only a few items l much rather go to a cashier till.
Unfortunately mine doesn't. I would prefer it as I find it easier to use and because I don't have to interact with anyone
Yes and I love it. It means you don't have to queue behind people with full trolley loads if you've only got a few items
we do and i wish Lidl and Home Bargains had them too. they never have more than 2 tills open.
Yes mine do I prefer Aldi having self service as it saves waiting as long for staff to get to tills. My local Aldi used to be bad never any staff on tills used to wait 5/10 minutes for staff to come to the tills.
No ours doesn't lots of checkout but usually half of them are closed and extremely long ques
Yes - but not sure if this applies to other stores - self checkout tills won't let you pay with giftcards.
We've just had a new Aldi open near me with self checkouts and I much prefer it for the same reasons
