I read about this. He was taking selfies while doing 140mph in a 70mph zone.

Didn't he get a 21 year driving ban too?

TheChimp wow should be for life. Not that it would stop idiots from driving without a licence the fact he was behaving like that anyway shows he has no regard for laws or life

TheChimp ...Yes he did, my daughter was crying when she read the full article out to me on her tablet..

Apparently his wife worked in our local hospital according to the comments on Social Media & reading the comments they always thought themselves better than others...

My daughter said people who look down on others have no place in the Care System..

Saw this on news and when interviewed once he lied about someone else and also said it didn’t make him a bad person. Erm yes it really does make him a very bad person.

JLouM ...It's NOT the first time he's been done for drunk driving either..

A car IS a deadly weapon..

I'm not a bad person really he said!!

Words fail me..

Tell that to all the grief stricken families who have to pick up the pieces in the aftermath.

At least this demon driver got a longer sentence, 17.5 years & banned from driving for 21 years..

My childhood friend Ronald lost his first wife to someone who couldn't control the car he had" borrowed", Carlene was flung into the underpass at Tinsley in Sheffield losing both her legs, she died instantly..Ronald & his family were left to care for his two young children..

That demon driver got 2.5 years..

Ronald & Carlene were a lovely church going family, well thought of in the community..

My brother recently got caught drunk driving. I was absolutely fuming. Finally went to court and he has been banned. Over the moon. What amazes me is that you can still drive while waiting for your court case.

My father in law was killed by a drunk driver 33 years ago. Mother in law was a widow at 25 with a 2 year old son to look after. Driver that killed him never saw the inside of a jail cell.

This is so sad yesterday when I read it online the guy who did this needs to never be set free he needs to serve a life sentence and never be allowed out how laws are to soft. He knew what he was doing traveling at that speed and well drunk and way above the limit

It's a shame we don't have the death sentence anymore in this country

May all the poor people who have been killed by drink drivers Rip

It's so sad that drink driving and drug driving as become such a big problem

Around where I live there are so many who drink and drive as we live in the middle of nowhere and never see the police

It's the same in most areas of the UK

Let's hope the other inmates get hold of him on the inside and do what they need to do to this low life person

Hopefully the fact that he killed a baby will mean his fellow inmates make his incarceration a living hell, which is no less than he deserves
