Deals that are just too good to be true...!
Don't disCOUNT them out!!
There's some that are hilarious. You like are you mad you're trying to treat people like they are stupid
PhilipMarc I agree, and Sainsbury's have jumped on the bandwagon now with nectar prices. The retailers don't want to go back to normal food prices so they reduce them to the price they should be in the guise of Clubcard and nectar prices etc.
Lynibis There's a Spanish supermarket called Mercadona and I asked if they'll have rewards card and she [employee] told me "We'll never have that. It's part of our commitment." I respect that since everyone else is doing it and can be exhausting if the person doesn't have the card or app to get the discounts.
In store, they have a coffee machine, it's very lively, friendly, and just overall a very nice environment (almost sounds like I'm talking about something than a grocery store ).
Aldi also doesn't do rewards cards and while Lidl does, the prices are the same unless you spend a lot per month to actually get a decent discount via the app (no physical card, annoyingly, which is even worse, imo).
In the U.K., Sainsbury's is my favorite for their lower prices and Nectar points, but now with Nectar Prices and SmartShop (same thing?) it's just disappointing and demoralizing.
I miss good genuine deals in supermarkets. Even things with short date don't go much cheaper these days
Imnotcheap you're not wrong! Waitrose is dreadful for that and the others seem to be following suit.
PS I am not a regular Waitrose customer as they are too expensive but it is my nearest supermarket so I occasionally get a couple of bits in there.
I'm always baffled that no one working in the store notices the issue with these offers. Surely you would see the issue when you put up the price!
Lol terrible offerings. But people will buy what they fancy - I’d actually boycott those who think their customers are too daft to notice
