Should Energy Drinks Have Health Warnings?

Ask a Question

Should energy drinks have health warnings?

When I was growing up, Red Bull seemed to be the only one around and they had those 'Red Bull gives you wings' adverts on TV. Nowadays, there are so many different brands and are often being picked up by teens in discounters like B&M and Home Bargains.

No, because you should read the information on the can. Some brands do carry a health warning - not suitable for pregnant women or children. The experts have been saying for years, it is not healthy to drink so many energy drinks per day or week.

Food and drink should all has ingredients and warnings on already.

We all need to take some responsibility for ourselves.

Those that preach about high caffeine content in energy drinks often drink a lot of coffee on a daily basis which is a contradiction.

SamGoodship if they get caught selling to kids they face serious fines from trading standards as with alcohol and tobacco/Vapes. You can also report businesses to them for investigation.

Midnightflower that's not true the government said they will ban it but they never didn't the paper work so they can't get fined the shops said they wouldn't sell them to anyone under 16 but they still can if they want too

Don't think it makes a lot of difference either way , as most people would not read them anyway. I mean to be honest unless your looking for something specific or not sure that the items suits your needs how many people actually read the packaging on items you buy .

I think they should come with health warnings. I know what people are saying about it being down to parents to read the ingredients, but some don’t

I had one today. It was 49p from home bargains. It was a Rock Star energy drink and god was it nice and refreshing. No way something that tastes that nice can be good for you. Absolutely delicious with some lovely exotic fruit flavours. It really hit the spot. This comment may not actually be that helpful in this thread.

No, health warnings are there just to try and scare people, but it doesn't work. If it did, the tobacco market would have gone under because they show really graphic results.

Let people eat, smoke, drink what they want. It's their body.

No, I think that people need to take responsibility for what they eat and drink themselves. We certainly don't need more regulation by the government, we are so highly regulated already!

I noticed in my local shop that they had put certain energy drinks high up so children and probably some adults could not reach them.
