I wonder how wide spread this is ? I would suppose it's a perfect cover, I wouldn't look twice at a Just Eat rider.

Am I too naive ?

I would like to know where he got the outfit and bag from B ?

He cannot be a genuine delivery driver or he wouldnt have time to deliver food and drugs

So the uniforms either stolen or he has a friend working for them having the night off

Ah, just found this from the article

He wont be eligible for employee of the month then

The 17-year-old was spotted riding a bicycle along Great Eastern Street towards Shoreditch High Street just after midnight on Saturday.

He was wearing a jacket and carrying a delivery bag belonging to the food takeaway delivery service.

Special constables on patrol attempted to stop him but he tried to make off.

The suspect was immediately detained and officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis around him.

He was searched and a quality of what is believed to be cannabis found in individual bags as well as £520 and a mobile phone containing information suggesting his involvement in drug dealing.

He was arrested for possession with intent to supply class B drugs and failing to stop for police.

Chief Inspector Chris Scammell, from the Central East Command Unit, said: “This was an excellent piece of police work with our volunteer officers from the special constabulary stopping this boy after their suspicions were aroused and seizing drugs and cash.

It’s solid work like this that has a real impact on keeping our communities safe.

“Enquiries have confirmed that the boy arrested does not work for a food delivery service and we believe he was using this as a front to organise drug deals.”

My son did a stint as a Deliveroo delivery guy in York. They make them buy their uniform and bag. When he gave it up he never returned the stuff. He moved back in with us & we don't live in York.

You can buy Just Eat bags and Jackets on eBay... but it looks like they made no difference. He'd probably be less conspicuousif he just wore regular clothes and used a small cheap backpack.

Its probably not that difficult to get uniforms / bags for most courier companies if you are so inclined - he couldn't have been much good though to get caught like that. Like you say - most people would not take any notice of a Just Eat delivery these days

There are so many delivery drivers/riders around now, it does make you wonder how many other people are doing things like this.

Could just legalise it to avoid this and police could focus on other things and also taxing it would bring in millions upon millions.

I was beginning to think I was naive because that what I thought, this must be wide spread in London if they are stopping riders

I wouldn't think twice about it .. but OmG that's shocking.. good on the officers for trusting their policing instincts and stopping him.
