What is Your Favourite Hotel Chain
Ask a Question
We went away for a few days and we stayed in the Travelodge and Premier Inn. Our favourite of the 2 was definitely the Premier Inn. It was just a little bit nicer and it was the same price. I like that they have tea etc at the front desk for you to take extra ass there isn't always enough in your room.
Does anyone have a favourite hotel chain that they stay in?
I’ve not tried a Travelodge as I have read some really bad reviews. On other hand sister has stayed in two different ones in London and she said was happy enough with them. I’ve stayed quite a few premier inns but have gone off them. They are good price and standard but I really hate that I can’t get fresh air in as the windows don’t open. They are often hot and dark. Holiday Inns are quite good too and I get small discount as a member. Don’t really have a favourite. Depends where it is and what I can pay. Sometimes I prefer a 4 star b&b.
JLouM the travelodges we were in were fine, just a bit old and tired. The Premier Inns were amazing, especially the last one we were in. We were able to open the windows in both the Premier Inns that we stayed in. We like a holiday Inn too, we are also a member but even with the discount it was more expensive than the travelodge and Premier Inn. I haven't got a favourite either, we usually just go for the cheapest.
martinlufc5637 we definitely preferred the Premier Inn to the travelodge, especially when they cost the same. We don't go away often but feel like Premier Inn is value for money.
MrsCraig yes it is good value for money and when we fly from Manchester airport you can use their carpark for £60 for the week
martinlufc5637 that is excellent, especially when airport parking can be extortionate.
Our decsion in most cases is based on price and location of where we want to go. We have stayed at most Days, Holiday inn, Ibis, Travelodge, Premier inn etc ,all very much a muchness really thou a few years back we did stay at a Travelodge just outside Heathrow airport which was absolutely lousy.
Been awhile since I stayed in a travelodge. I like a premier inn. Nice and you know shat you're getting. The breakfast is good as well.
Jerseydrew the breakfast in the Premier Inn is very good. We like the breakfast at the Holiday Inn too.
Quite agree when comparing Travelodge and Premier Inn, Premier Inn is the better of the two, I have always slept well in Premier In beds.
Stayed in Holiday Inn Express in Paris & Manchester, stayed in stayed in Travel Lodge too..
My favourite budget hotel is Premier, stayed in this hotel chain a few times over the years..
janphoenix51 Premier Inn seems to be a popular one based on this chat thread. I enjoy a premier Inn. I know that you can buy the mattress that they use in Premier Inn, didn't know you could buy their bedding though.
MrsCraig ...You can buy their bed base, mattresses, pilows & duvet..
All makes for a comfortable sleep ...
janphoenix51 oh I didn't realise you could get all of that. I'm tempted to look into getting the mattress when we need a new one.
Premier Inns introduced their bedding was available to buy..
It was. we did & we don't want to get up now !!!
Premier Inn used to be my second home as a few jobs behind the one I am In before being made redundant, I used to work around the UK doing Flooring Work for ASDA. So everytime I work away a Premier Inn was my home. I loved It. Always clean and friendly. I remember a few years ago when I was at Merryhill Shopping Centre working for 13 weeks, I changed Hotels 3 times because we had a heat wave and some have air con while others dont. It was HOT so sleeping was a problem. Otherwise a great chain. Even the food. My Breakfast was Included & It was just lovely. No complaints there. For Dinner I used to go for the cheapest option & the remainder money left (Work Allowance Voucher) (£20) used to get something for my snack like a Sandwich or something. Brilliant. I miss that Job and of course my Hotel from home.
Daffodil90 I like a holiday Inn but they wanted twice what the Premier Inn was and didn't feel that it was warranted.
I am OK staying in a Premier Inn in the UK. Good value and the Birmingham New Street location is only a few minutes walk from the train!
