Flu Jab Now with COVID Combined

Ask a Question

So I have just been to have my flu jab, just before they did it, he says this is flu and covid combined!!!! Hang on a minute I never agreed to have covid vaccine, last 2 COVID vaccines I had I was extremely poorly, and 3 days later I had an 8 inch unprovoked blood clot in my leg, so I refuse to have it again, so I refused the vaccine, he says well you can't have the flu jab then, since when was this implemented, surely it's a choice, why am I being forced to have this vaccine, has anybody else had the same experience

Yes that is wrong, informed consent must always be obtained. Can I ask if this was within the nhs or a private pharmacy? The pharmacies get paid per jab and so put more pressure on people to have them.

jms19 it was at my local pharmacy, and yes the pressure did come but I was having none of it

martinlufc5637 so basically they did that because they get paid twice if you have both the flu & covid vaccine. If it was me I’d probably not visit there again cause they are obviously more concerned with making money than respecting your autonomy. Plus it’s fairly worrying you were blindsided.

jms19 even my doctor told me that having another COVID jab would be risky with having previous blood clot, I told the pharmacist this, he struggled it off, I told him I'm leaving and reporting him to my doctor Monday morning

Pjran there is no medical evidence to say you shouldn’t have the flu jab & covid jab at the same time, it all just comes down to personal preference

Pjran from I can find out and was Not made clear it was on fact 2 different jabs not 1 combined, so why he said he couldn't do the flu if I didn't have the COVID vaccine is beyond me

martinlufc5637 it’s because they wanted to pressure you into having both so they could make more money. I worked on the covid vaccination programme for 2 years and this sort of thing was very common from pharmacies and they made a mint from delivering the vaccines.

I haven't heard of a combined Covid/flu jab. I'm only eligible for a flu one, but I'd much rather have a combined one.

Leannexxx Yep, we have a walk-in next month for both flu and Covid, but people will be getting 2 jabs if eligible, not a combined one. I'll just be getting the flu one because that's all I'm allowed ☹️

I haven't heard of a combined one.

I had both today, one in one arm and one in the other.

Someone I know said their doctors were only doing the Flu ones at the moment, as it would take too much to organise it.

I would have thought I'd heard if it was combined.

DeBunny I read about it a few months ago, I'll see if I can find it...

In any case, people should be made aware of what they're getting and only get it if they consent to it.

PhilipMarc Stop it now, that vid is over 10 months old.

Don't be taken in by absolute nonsense that people are saying on here. You either get a flu jab, a Covid jab or both. There is no combined one.

Prove me wrong.

Bloody antivaccers scaremongering again by the looks of it.

I would be disgusted if that happened Martin. I did go to my local surgery this morning and there was people who were offered both but it literally comes down to YOU and if you want 1 ,2 or none then you choose and not someone else..

What they are doing is giving you both jabs at the same time. One in each arm.

2 separate jabs. 2 different arms.

You can absolutely take one or the other or both. You do have a choice.

Anyone being told otherwise is being lied to, or is misunderstanding what they're being told.

Had my flu jab at the surgery on Saturday morning and they were very clear in telling us that this was just the flu jab. Those that are due the covid jab would be contacted in due course. I can actually get my covid jab at the hospital where I work - and probably will sometime in the next week or so. There is no combined jab and I doubt if there ever will be they are two different issues.
