Fried Eggs What Do You Eat Them With?
Ask a Question
Love eating fried eggs and I am getting better at cooking them with a nice crispy texture!! What do you eat it with, I know most will say bacon but don’t have any at home, I have had fried spam with them.
RegularComper91 me too! Love eating fried eggs so delicious haha yeah I have them in sandwiches too with tomatoes and lettuce that’s it lol
What do you have in sandwich just an egg?
kitty88uk I ususlly have it with brown sauce. Never thought about having it with tomatoes and lettuce. I must try it.
RegularComper91 isn’t that bad with just sauce lol have it with lettuce and tomatoes it’s tasty
Can have it on toast or with chips. I like a fried egg on a mixed grill or with a bit of gammon
Wouldn't like them crispy but would have in a sarnie or with chips or fried mash and very rarely as part of a full English or just on toast.
I loved fried eggs but after having COVID my sense of smell changed, the smell of them cooking now is horrible to me, when I had them I always had with fried beans
martinlufc5637 ah I haven’t had them with baked beans in a while
Is that so… I always find the smell nasty too cause of the oil hate the smell so much when I’m not making fried eggs to eat
It’s damn disgusting burning smell
When I was cooking fried eggs I have to open the kitchen door and windows for fresh air! Only cook it when on days I have to wash hair lol
kitty88uk yeah I'm the same, I cannot stand the smell of them, boiled eggs too
I do eat fried eggs and yes with bacon in a sandwich but at the moment I am really enjoying scrambled egg sandwiches and cut down on the cheese sandwiches.
We often have a vegetarian stir fry with noodles and a fried egg on top. No idea why, my wife does it but it just works.
didbygraham last month I’ve been cooking stir fried udon and noodles with just spring onions and onions too! And sliced carrots and fried eggs too!
An Asian cuisine lol
Very delicious simple meal but in the end have a lot of dishes and a big wok to wash!
Usually depends on what they're served on or with.
If say Corned Beef Hash then I'd possibly just grind some black pepper on top of the fried egg whilst the egg was as fresh as possible. Or I suppose a bit of grated cheese might go well with that either instead of or most likely as well as the black pepper.
I've relatively recently discovered "Sainsbury's Sriracha Hot Sauce 300g" (£1.75 (58p per 100g)) and love a bit of a drizzle of that with certain foods; I suppose it wouldn't hurt to add a drizzle of that on top of the fried egg. Certainly cheaper, easier to use, and better value for money buying the aforementioned sriracha sauce than it is buying one of those tiny 57ml bottles of Tabasco, even if you only get the mild (green) one! Alternatively I suppose someone could use a sweet chilli sauce.
One final thing to add is that one of the breakfast things I used to do a while ago now is if doing poached egg(s) - e.g.: on a slice of buttered toast, or on a buttered and sliced muffin - I'd also add a slice or two of cheese on top of the muffin, such that when the poached egg(s) is/are ready the heat from them somewhat melts the cheese, and the whole flavours combine quite well IMHO. I also sometimes grind some black pepper on top of the egg at that point as well.
(Sorry for the mini-essay )
Gammon steak and chips, sausages, a fry, a bacon and egg bagel or roll. It just depends what mood we are in and what meal we are having it for.
Fried eggs go with an awful lot of things and I know many of the lads on my dad's old firm loved them with a full english breakfast. However my favourite has always been fried eggs, on fried bread with brown sauce. You simply can't beat it on a typical rainy English day.
I’ve been eating a fried egg most days for breakfast lately. On a slice of buttered toast with marmite and lots of black pepper.
I like eggs, but not fried eggs. My husband always has them with beans, and eats them with Gammon or a steak or just with crusty bread. My preference are poach eggs......
