Anyone else hating this damn heatwave weather?
Havenβt been able to sleep well
Staying hydrated drinking lots of water
But get headaches and get dizzy too!
kitty88uk I like a dry heat, but not a fan of humid heat. This heatwave started off OK but is becoming more humid now.
RegularComper90 I agree itβs like itβs getting hard to breathe especially at night the humidity is so bad that I cannot sleep and when I do and morning comes Iβm all sweaty
I absolutely love this weather as it helps with my psoriasis. I really need sun all year round so once our summer is over I go travelling abroad to get more sun.
eyeballkerry haha that seems a bit over the top to go abroad for more sun οΈ but if you can afford it then thatβs fine
kitty88uk As it really benefits my health I donβt see it as over the top. We have two cruises book at the moment, hoping to get to Malta next week for my daughters birthday but flights are so expensive at the moment and then in the future hoping to move abroad
eyeballkerry I see that sounds lovely enjoy both the trip and celebration
Oh dear everything is getting more expensive!
eyeballkerry ...I feel your pain,I had Psoriasis in 2019 after having a Virus just before going to Portugal for the first time. I then came out in Psoriasis in Portugal, couldn't get a Dr Appointment at my Surgery so had to go to a hub,the night I came home, tried a few Chemist's to get my prescription, couldn't get the Cream til following day!
It was the first outbreak of Psoriasis in seventeen years since giving birth to my daughter, who should have been born yesterday 25 years ago but came 9 days late!
When I get Psoriasis I an covered head to toe & it is soooo uncomfortable..
My Niece turned 23 in August, my daughter & I visited her,she was upstairs at her parents home, didn't want to go out as she was covered in Psoriasis,so sat in her bedroom playing music with her bf.It was the first time she had got it,her Dad is my younger brother,he & I have suffered for years with Psoriasis.
I told my Niece it will stop itching & fade, sent her a photo of my back covered in this curse with the words..
SKINS CAN ONLY GET BETTER!!
Our older sister was diagnosed with Rhuamatiod Arthritis on July 22nd 2009 & the first thing the Consultant asked her was if she had any siblings who have Psoriasis because it's connected, she told him yes my sister & brother, her late son had it his sister has it too if I'm correct, our cousin has the Arthritis that comes with her Psoriasis, had it since she was a child..
Good luck, I hope you find comfort in the sun.. x
I donβt mind the heat but it does take getting used to. Canβt go about things at the usual pace and as you said make sure to keep hydrated
I enjoy the heat if I can stay at home where i'm able to freely slob about, lots of drinks and cool down when I need to. Don't like the heat at night though, even with my fan on.
Don't mind the heat but got to be careful with my skin as been treated with melanoma in the past. Usually stay inside or in the shade, wearing factor 50. Keep covered as much as possible and staying hydrated.
SarahfromLeeds Hi another member from Leeds! Nice to meet you! Oh I see Iβm glad you are all better now!
Yeah I use spf 50 and pull out the curtains too and drinking a lot of water eating ice cream to help me cool down!
Just two more days of this heatwave and it will get colder ish
Nadiaparveen How have you been doing so? Any tips? Lol I drink lots of water and cooled down herbal tea eating ice cream using a paper fan lol
Really hope it ends soon!
kitty88uk you're doing well with those measures you can draw curtains together when the sun is at the highest points 11-3pm. You can use one of those ice packs used for sprains, on your head.
Nadiaparveen Thanks yeah have been doing that with curtains when the suns out and shines so much through my room
Only past two days been using forehead strips to cool down! Was saving them when get headache
They helped so much felt cooler
It's been awful. My place of work is unbearable. Its boiling even with open windows. Come winter it'll be freezing
Jerseydrew Oh no take care of yourself and stay hydrated!
Exactly hot summer gets so humid!!
And when itβs winter it gets very cold your bones ache!
I hate being hot. I woke up with a splitting headache and it made me throw up. Weβve bought a small paddling pool and spent the afternoon in that so itβs helped.
snoogans888 Oh no! That sounds bad! Get well soon! Drink more water and eat more fruits
I hate being hot too and those bad headaches they can last for two weeks for me!
Yeah I've had that all day today I've had to drink my friend had to buy me lunch drinks today I just had to come upstairs better 8:00 stop got in the bath with cold water and then I'm just going to go sleep see how I feel in the morning
CallumFlowers Crazy weather! Even having a shower get out and Iβm all damn sweaty again!!
Humidity is driving me mad
Clothes are damp from sweat lol sigh
Just 1 more day until we get cooler ish temperatures
I hate this heat as I really cant cope with it at all. Luckily we finallt got our window replaced last week so at least I can now open the window in the room I sleep in! Helps a little bit - but when the air outside is hotter than indoors it is less help!
didbygraham Exactly!! Want air to flow into bedroom so can sleep but nope!! Argh heat rises upwards so itβs actually warmer than downstairs!! So every morning Iβm all sweaty
Hate the heat.Currently in the garden in the dark lapping up the cool.I can't function in the heat at all!
MelissaLee1 Yeah itβs damn irritating get all dizzy keep sweating clothes are damp lol canβt sleep cause of the Damn humidity itβs driving me mad
We need to take care ourself during this heatwave. Climatic conditions are changing rapidly.
My work place is hell in the heat you boil in it and winter it's thermals. Typical architecture let's put shed loads of glass in so it looks nice. Who cares if it doesn't function
Jerseydrew Omg thatβs Damn awful!! Stupid really! The heat and humidity isnβt going anywhere plus with the sun shining bright even more hot
Why have glass in the first place?! Ridiculous! Needs windows for fresh air same for toilets at shops like John Lewis and M&S etc
kitty88uk architectures that's why. They come up with these wonderful ideas cos it looks pretty but in reality they are unpractical. Oh is a carpenter and hates working with architectures cos they have these ideas that don't worgk and cause him all sorts of problems and the builders get the blame when it's done and then you get problems like this
I don't mind staying indoors now I'm retired so I keep thick curtains drawn, blinds down, Windows shut and binge on box sets! It works, I have only felt hot when trying to sleep.
Lynibis crazy how I read online is to keep windows close d and draw curtains lol but great if it works!
Yeah itβs brutal at nights!
Temperatures rises upwards so upstairs is much hotter with the humidity
I open windows wide and leave a gap between curtains to let fresh air flow in
I thought the heat had cooled a bit but nope the fan stays permanently on these days it's horrid without and going out is not on the books
wonderingsoul fan just circulated the humidity and heat back and forth lol best to have windows open
Keep drinking water to stay hydrated and eat fruits too
Yeah stupid crazy to go out in this weather!
Caught part of a programme last night saying that the hottest September day on record was in 1906 when it hit 35Β°. A few days later elsewhere it was 32.5Β°
There was also a programme on about the heatwave in 1976 and I remember it well as it was the year my son was born.
SaveMeSunday I totally agree with you! Canβt wait for autumn and winter season prefer to wear cozy clothes but itβs horrible when it gets so cold bones actually ache!!
I'm not doing great in this hot weather. Not sleeping well, headaches and nausea. I've been in 40c in Canada and had no problems but anything over 25c over here and I suffer
Deansmum oh no!! I know how you feel I get headache as well I find out you get them cause you are not drinking enough water as itβs so hot you are sweating a lot stay hydrated and eat fruits
I get dizzy too headaches can last for a week or so for me hate them
Take pain medicine and I started using cool and soothe forehead strips! Was saving for headaches but decided to use them last night and day before it helps to cool you down! Says so on the back for summer season! And can put on back of neck too! Works up to 8 hours cooling you down in this heat! I recommend you get some! Hope these information tips help!
We're having a rainy day here in the Midlands. It's good for the plants and animals and a welcomed change.
Nadiaparveen Yes itβs raining a lot here too much cooler that the past few days! Finally lol
Havenβt been able to sleep in heatwave
I know if sounds a bit drastic but I have resorted on occasion to wearing a wet t-shirt to keep my torso cool. The initial shock for a few seconds is well rewarded by feeling cool until it dries. Doubt we need any keep cool tips now the heatwave is over.
