Can You Help Me with the Meaning and Merits of the BADGES on LD ?

I am working my way through the badges...am now Judge level 5 and just attained Groundskeeper ... but I can't find out what they actually mean.... or are they just for a bit of fun? Thanks. Love the site though.

You used to be able to hover over them and see what each badge meant.

You can't do that right now. I think it's a temporary bug, that Kelsey is fixing.
