I guess the main thing is self discipline. Having hard boundaries such as no phone screen time between say 9pm and 8am.

As jms said, only you can do this. Not only self discipline but whether you are willing to take any advice given. My own advice would be to sit at table for meals leaving phones in another room. Also if you are intending to watch a programme do the same, put the phone out of your eyeline and turn sound off.

People always say what about emergencies but how often in a lifetime would that occur?

Lynibis yeah i realised one day that when I’m watching a film I’m still on my phone so didn’t even enjoy it. Now the phone goes away and it’s way better.

Stop looking down while walking in street would be a good one. The amount of people that nearly bump into me because not looking where they are going. I never ever do this. Also as L says put it away at dinner table and have an actual conversation! Otherwise set your timer and say that’s enough for today.

Turn it off or give to a friend and tell them not to give it back to you for 3 hours.

Nobody can change the way you use your phone but yourself. Put the thing down and forget about It. I only use mine because It Is the next best thing to having a house phone. Otherwise, I hate the darn thing.

Removing apps from your phone but keep on the desktop or laptop. I removed my insta not that I had many followers or followed many. I deactivated fb and never had one my phone except messenger. See what feels healthy and what feels unhealthy and question if you can check that on laptop and remove on phone. We do not need to be on or available all the time and to everyone.

Such a good question. We are all so glued to our phones these days.... Yes putting it in another room, switching it off... The only real way is discipline and strong will!
