Any Ideas for a Cheap Party Buffet??
Ask a Question
For my husbands birthday we always have the family over and do a buffet and drinks. with the cost of living going up, any suggestions on cheap buffet tricks to keep costs down??
Instead of buying pre-cooked sausage rolls, buy a decent pack of frozen ones like these >> www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-lincolnshire-mini-sausage-rolls-x40-800g and then cook them yourself but brush with milk before cooking and the come out amazing and £2 for around 40 instead of around £6 for pre-made and they taste nicer too
Buy some cheap cream crackers and cut up cubes of cheese and make a cheese platter. Aldi copy Pringles are just as good as the branded ones which saves money and if you buy this cake which Aldi do too if you are not near a Sainsburys its super cheap, tasty and feeds loads of people too

You could always ask everyone to bring one item with them and if there is stuff left then everyone gets to take some home with them.
Or make things like lasagne, macaroni, shepherds pie, chilli etc, that way it is more filling. You can bulk them out with lentils and veg. Bake 2 or 3 big cakes or make cupcakes.
A couple of cold pasta dishes are cheap and great for filling guests up. You can pick up huge bags of pasta for a couple of quid in most big supermarkets.
Buy big bags of own brand crisps, chips/wedges/curly fries, onion rings, etc. You could make a big tomato pasta bake and/or Mac n cheese.
Suggest an American Supper and ask what they’ll bring so it’s not duplicated. I’m sure they will understand and help.
Great ideas guys thanks. Really appreciate everyone that took the time to reply. Thanks you
