LloydsPharmacy Shared Customers Info with Social Media after Purchasing Viagra

In the News

This must be so embarrassing for people who have purchased these medicines from Lloyds

Imagine how they must feel knowing that facebook and TiKTok have got their personal details such as names, e mail addresses and phone numbers

Not only information about them buying dysfunction erectile medicine for example but other medicines bought for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, thrush and even chlamydia tests

I can see a large lawsuit coming concerning this as the breach of information is so personal and damaging

It's very concerning that such a large and well established company thinks this behaviour is OK. I'm impressed that journalists are bringing this story to the public and calling it out though.

Midnightflower This is a big scandal M, as bad as having your bank details compromised, and on social media , such intimate details for anyone to exploit

telmel absolutely and I bet many people don't realise how much of their personal information is at risk.

Midnightflower I have heard about a lot of this type of thing happening lately M, i am not sure if it is the fault of the companies being lax or hackers invading their information files

Sometimes the companies don't want the public to know in case they become afraid and start withdrawing their custom

telmel If a company isn't capable of keeping data safe, then surely they shouldn't be holding any. I hope the media keeps exposing the issue, so action is taken.

Hopefully the information commissioners will prosecute as data laws have been broken

It’s shocking that this kind of thing is still happening as the amount of awareness on this subject is huge

How strange, wonder if it is a coincidence that my local LloydsPharmacy is closing permanently tomorrow. It is based inside Sainsburys.

Pjran after writing that I thought I should check to make sure my comment was correct and found this, Lloyds Pharmacy puts all 1,300 branches 'at risk' of closure in major blow for high street. Lloyds Pharmacy already announced the closure of 237 of its chemists in Sainsbury’s supermarkets by the end of the year, having also shut 76 stores in 2022.

Wow that's awful and not OK. It can be embarrassing buying certain medicines for certain conditions and certain medicines can be used to treat a number of things and the gender public may not know this.
