Ask a Question
Do you have any favourite interviews with Michael Parkinson
I remember him calling David beckham golden balls and rod hull emu Mohammed Ali also and my favourite Billy Connelly
Any you remember
I remember watching him in the past and the great thing about him was he let the person being interviewed talk I've seen some more recent interviewers and they speak too much if you ask me. I remember him interviewing many of the Hollywood greats in their retirement years and getting great insights into what was happening back then. I remember the Rod Hull interview but personally didn't think it was great television I found it more irritating than anything.
BonzoBanana Michael Parkinson was a proper chat host when chat hosts had to be a mature person to speak to actors, directors, etc to get them to "spill the beans" and there was no Wiki to read about them before hand so you had to watch Parkinson to learn about the lives of his guests. RIP Michael Parkinson you were one of the very best.
Remember watching him interview people in my school days. He was quite watchable. Don’t remember anything particular though.
I always liked Parky and enjoyed his show. Didn't he interview Oliver Reed once when he was rollicking drunk?
Just read this, so sad. He was a great interviewer, I loved the Billy Connolly interviews as you felt they were just two friends catching up.
beccatavender they were apparantly good friends but had a falling out in later years
Aenurse1 I have just watched Parkinson at 50 on IPlayer, it's on BBC1 at 9, I forgotten some of the great people he interviewed. Well worth a watch.
I used to watch Michael parkinson regularly. Probably the most strange interview I saw was with Rod Hull and Emu. May he R.I.P
