How Much is Too Much for a Mobile Phone ?

Other

Saw a deal earlier about a discounted phone... got me thinking how much people spend on buying a mobile.

There should be a cap on how much mobile phones can sell for I believe £500 should be the maximum

I've bought an Android phone in 2016 (or was it 2017, I dunno) for £60 and still works great for me. The camera could be better but it's fine as I use it more for browsing, downloads and/or watch stuff, and listen to music.

Beats me why people bother spending £1k on a phone but guess they feel the need to have the latest model even though they'll just use for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. lol

Have to say I recently spent over a grand on an iPhone XS Max.

I justify it (mostly to myself when I break out in a cold sweat at the price) by breaking it down. It has an amazing camera, it's a great mini game player, great music player, eReader, maps and many other things.

I still spent a good while researching before taking the plunge, I also don't upgrade every year so that makes me feel "slightly" better.

I think that iPhones are generally pretty good, but I believe that the only reason why iPhones are as expensive as they are is because they have the Apple logo embedded onto them.

I have and would never spend more than £500. Don't find the need to. My recent phone cost me £150. And I am very pleased with everything that came with the phone. Would not even think about spending more than £500

Mine a Blackberry cost £22.99 NEW over two years ago - I only use it as a phone, camera, voice recorder, to play a word game, alarm clock, calendar, shopping list, diary, appointment reminder, calculator, and to play and record music. I turned the internet thingummy off some time ago - What am I missing?

Furthermore it is so robust I can juggle with it - and I'm a lousy juggler.😀

I think spending £1,000 on a phone is silly and pointless. You can get some pretty decent phones for a quarter of that price.

I also think it's silly - but you've got to admit it's hilarious when they drop them down the loo.😀 😀

davidstockport Ha ha yes. 😀

As previously mentioned, the only reason why some phones are so overpriced is because of the brand names. It's the same with Dyson and many others.

RegularComper90 It's exactly the same with watches - my most expensive watch (inherited) would cost about a thousand - it never sees the light of day. My favourite watch, about six years old, cost just over £2 from China (including P&P) - it is more accurate than the expensive one and when it eventually gives up the ghost (if that's before I do) I've got an identical unused one to replace it.

I never spent more then £150 on a smartphone. For kids the Xiomi brand phones are brilliant for the price paid £60 for last model. I would go as far as saying they work better then my Iphone in terms of battery life
