I Need Help With Sizing Of Kids Socks So I Can Put One Inside A Dogs Boot Please

Ask a Question

I'm hoping someone can help as I've spent ages on ebay already when I'm not sure what I am looking for!

To explain briefly, one of my dogs has had 4 operations on his foot and I am now having to have a special boot made to protect it, the people making it advise to buy either a hiking sock liner or a season 2 hiking sock inside to cushion it, well obviously a dogs foot is a lot smaller than a human foot so I am trying to find the smallest size cushioned sock and I've ended up on childrens but I don't know how long they are in inches and I'm risking buying the wrong size when I'm limited for time, some prices are quite high too, so can anybody help me with the length of childrens sock sizes in inches please??

I'll tag MrsCraig in desperation as I know she has a lovely little boy but all help will be gratefully received, thanks!! x

Thanks for the suggestion Imnotcheap but I'm keeping away from stores for a while, I'm only doing my weekly visit to the Vets because I have no choice! x

Imnotcheap Awww thank you! That would be brilliant, I'd do it shortly, I'm having Internet trouble again and it's so slow and I keep getting a notification that Topcashback has crashed and I had it yesterday too, I installed a pop up blocker yesterday and I don't know if it's related or coincidence! All this modern technology 🙄 x

Imnotcheap It's 7 & 1/2" from the front of the toe to the back of the heel, that's seven and a half inches 😉 x

Ann1984 Thanks Ann but it has to go inside the boot I'm having made so baby socks would be too thick and not long enough but I really appreciate your help, thank you!! x

0-3 month socks are 4 inches, 3-6 months are 4 1/8 inches, 6-9 months are 4 3/8 inches, 9-12 months are 4 1/2 inches, 12-18 months is 5 inches, 18-24 months is 5 5/8 inches and 2 years is 6 inches.

These are rough measurements but will give you an idea.

I have a Jack Russell and she would easily fit into a 0-3 month and have room. Just depends on the size of your dogs paw.

Alternatively you could buy baby tights and cut to size and add some elastic to the top.

Although the sizes you listed aren't big enough, thanks for taking the trouble MrsCraig, I've just put the sizes on for Imnotcheap - It's 7 & 1/2" from the front of the toe to the back of the heel, that's seven and a half inches, I'm hoping they will come up with something, it's really hard when you haven't got a clue 😂 I really really appreciate the help though!! x

JoTarpley no problem, you would probably need age 4-5 or 5-6 then. Hope you get something sorted. X

lilyflower you see something like this is cushioned and it comes in UK size 10-12 & 13-2, those sizes mean absolutely nothing to me but if I could find out how long a size 2 is for example I could do it x
