Is There No End to Competition Greed?

Other

I first saw a competition ad during the ad breaks on Tipping Point. I didnt pay much attention bit it went on forever encouraging you to find a game show hidden in a word grid, and a bonus country too, then phone in.

I then saw it during the ads on 'This Morning' today. I inwardly groaned and ignored but then looked up and saw the small print under the word grid. They wanted to £10.80 to enter!

Personally i feel this is tantamount to encouraging gambling and is certainly not in the spirit of the comps most of us enter on here.

Sadly, many people are blinded by the idea of that big win, and they get a nasty surprise when the next phone bill comes in.

blacklabrador yep, that's why I likened it to gambling because you're drawn in always with the hope you will recoup the stake money, in this case the entry fee. Bad enough that ITV sees fit to charge £2 for entering their comps and then you get drawn in by the promise of a third free entry if you pay for a second, and so on.

Have just seen that ad again and to clarify it is £3.60 to find the quiz show, which is countdown, and a further £7.20 to answer the country part, which is Portugal.
