Owning a Dog Can Promote Healthy Aging and Reduce Disability Risk

In the News

Its really good to know that owning a dog is not only a joy but it also helps to keep you healthy in mind as well as body

The study is in japan but i expect it can apply to people in other countries including the UK

I have always championed dog ownership and for anyone feeling particularly lonely this study confirms what was thought

Cats also provide huge benefits they often help people calm down and relax more than dogs but dogs have the benefit of getting their owners outside to exercise with regard walks. Both are hugely positive compared to not owning pets though.

Dog’s are great at relieving stress but surely can’t stop any disability In my humble opinion.

I think they are talking about reducing the risk of disability more P

I would expect they mean like strokes and the such that can lead to permanent disability

Funny enough, my sister was just saying the same, after a lifetime of saying No to a dog, she now dog sits for her daughter's dog and says it makes her more active taking it for walks and the dog is always pleased to see her. She was raving about it, but not for me. I don't want to pick up poo 😀

Its not too bad B is you feed dry food , it tends to come out solid and quite dry providing the dog doesn't have an upset stomach

Quite a character M , and his wife was quite colourful too, putting it mildly

I noticed the boy in the family photo was grimacing

She must have been letting rip at that moment 🥴

My little dog passed away a couple of weeks ago. Devastated. I am disabled and really helped me to be active. He was a joy and life is pretty sad at the moment. I think everyone should have a pet.
