How Do People Keep Sharing the Same Thing?

Okay so whenever i go to post something if someone has already posted it without me realising, it pops up. It let's me know it's already been shared. So how come i see a few sales offers etc posted more than once by different people within a few hours? How do they get round it and why? Surely its not helpful to have multiple listings?

I do wonder this sometimes, I think with amazon you have independent retailers also selling the same products so maybe that's what happens when it's the same product multiple times on there. The system can only be so smart I guess, this is the difference between people and computers.
