Pepsi is Dead, Long Live Coca-Cola

In the News

Found out today that Pepsi are drastically reducing the sugar content in their full fat variety and adding artificial sweeteners. I'm sensitive to sweeteners, so will only be buying Coca-Cola from now on. They say it's to do with health concerns, but we all know it's to do with cost.

Another one bites the dust.

I hate saccharin drinks. I like proper coke.

MelissaLee1 Same here. It's very hard to source full sugar drinks now and when you do, they are very expensive.

The only 2 that were still going at a reasonable price were Pepsi and Coke, and now Pepsi has gone.

Their loss, Cokes gain.

I prefer diet Pepsi and diet Coca-Cola to the full sugar versions, aka regular. I will continue to drink Pepsi regardless.

jam45 The problem is that we're not given the choices now even if we would pay more through the sugar tax.

Lucozade was given to diabetics for hypoglycemia. Lucozade reduced the glucose and added artificial sweeteners to save money.

Their advice to diabetics? Drink more Lucozade to get the same effect.

Jamie Oliver has a lot to answer for.

jam45 I'm avoiding sugar in such drinks and sensitive to caffeine so buy the caffeine free Pepsi Max on occasion. It's one of the few such drinks I can buy. I can't remember the last time I had a full sugar Cola drink of any brand. So like you this won't have any effect. Maybe Pepsi have taken their time to do this so maybe their version with reduced sugar will taste as good as full sugar Pepsi?

I'm not a big fan off Pepsi, but I do find it ridiculous that these companies sell reduced sugar drinks as a healthier option when some artificial sweetners such as aspartame have health risks.

I can't stand lucozade since they reduced the sugar, it's disgusting.

On a Friday night and Saturday I absolutely love the taste of proper Coca Cola and for our household its split down the middle . I'm a total Coca Cola fan and my wife is squarely in the Pepsi camp .

No doubt even after what Pepsi are doing my wife will still be a Pepsi fan ,
