Pigeons Cause £15,000 of Damage to East London Flat

In the News

When you talk about internal damage to let property it is sometimes caused by the tenants themselves

But in this case it was a flock of about 40 pigeons that invaded the flat and caused the devastation inside

The departing tenants did help by leaving the patio door open when they left , giving the pigeons open accommodation

The landlord just looked in but retreated because of the overbearing stench

The cost of clearing up the poop and feathers could run to £15,000 !!

I don't know where they come up with £15,000 to tidy and clean. I bet the cleaners get about £10-12 an hour but yes this are not the best tenants ever!

I had no idea that pigeons would even enter your premises if the patio door is left open. I used to leave my front door and patio door wide open when I had the carpets professionally cleaned ( I was told to do this by the cleaner). Those pigeons are a nasty piece of work to enter a building and deliberately mess it up.

jam45 The problem was it brought all its mates P, 39 or so of them and they had a rave 🥳

telmel Ha, ha, ha. But it is not funny. It's the cleaners and the landlord I feel sorry for. Can you imagine that mess???

Boff. Pigeon mess smells horrible. We used to have a street that was always covered in pigeons mess and the smell and that was outside
