Would You Send Your Kids to Private School if It Was More Affordable?
Ask a Question
If it was cheaper, would you send your kids to a private school?
Do you think they would get a better education there?
Leannexxx I home schooled my youngest, I have four children. If sending her private made her school life better then I would I have sent her.
eyeballkerry totally understand that but I don't know any difference only what people have said to me about private schools so I don't know what there like I'm only homeschooling mine because she needs that extra help and she can't get it
Auntielettie As if you would get a refund what about all the people without children?
Auntielettie People who don't have children, or those who homeschool don't get any reduction
Definitely would have sent my kids to private school if I could have afforded it. Smaller classes, the best teachers, more opportunities and don;t forget the all important networking and getting to know the more influential people , The old saying "it's not what you know it who you know " is very apt in most cases.
Mango4 Smaller classes is a good thing to note. My daughter went from a school that had 2 classes per year group with 25 kids each roughly to a school with 1 class of 12.
God no. I've in private and state schools. Those that think the best teachers are in private schools are having a laugh. They are the best. Also don't think that the facilities will be better. One of my local private schools the year 4 kids have been taught in porta cabins for 20 years and the canteen was originally a swimming pool. They didn't bother filling the pool in but built over it. The building is blantly for a pool. Hot in the summer cold in the winter. Another iss full of dry rot with a brand new council school right across the road. Local private schools are full of drugs because that's where the money is
Jerseydrew Oh dear. I don't rate that school as excellent for a private school. I am hoping the children has mastered proper English you know the posh pronunciation of ordinary words. Are you hinting only drug dealers send their children to these type of private schools?
jam45 no but that's where dealers are likely to go where I am due to the fact that kids at these school have money. Those is other schools don't have access to the money in the same way.
Yes as unfortunately it is the best opportunity for them in the UK. However, if we had a education system that was well funded and functioned well, we would not need private education at all.
Midnightflower I disagree with you. Have not not heard of Harrow and Eton College producing so many prime ministers and MPs? Can you imagine naughty "Alan" going to Eton? No, the local school is just fine for the likes of "Alan".
I’ve seen the results of public school not my children but another family member. The school fees are astronomical but they can afford it. Their children are not brats and I’m sure they appreciate their opportunities.
I certainly would have done. They have smaller classes so children can't hide at the back of classes. The opportunities they get include a wider range of social skills and they 'network' so when they leave they already have connections that will lead them into better jobs.
I don’t have children, but if i did, i would definitely send them to private school if it was financially feasible. It’s proven that better opportunities come from being in those sort of circles.
