Recycling and What You Can and Can't Do .

Out of interest wherever you live can I ask what you can and can't recycle . I ask as in the area I live in its a bizarre to say that we had some changes a few months ago and in 1 of the changes the council said don't put in apple juice cartons as they aren't recyclable but other cartons are . I just wondered do you think there should be a simplified system which is dealt with nationally as in a short distance to where I live the differences are astonishing at best but shocking at worse . For recycling what would you do if you was in charge of it what would you do ?
We can recycle everything that can be recycled. I always check the packaging to see if it can be recycled. Anything that can goes in the appropriate bin and anything that can't goes in the rubbish bin. Our rubbish bins only get emptied every 3 weeks, so we are encouraged to recycle where we live and have 3 bins and 2 boxes for recycling.
MrsCraig Can I ask with recycling how often do you have your recycling collected ?
stuartsmith544 it is every 3 weeks, but the bins are big enough that you can go 3 weeks.
I think the only thing we can't recycle at home is glass and thin plastics which are meant to be recycled at large stores ect, I always check the labels just to be sure. The problem in our area is they can't be bothered to collect the recycling which is very unhelpful.
There does need to be a simplied system I agree there are logos. But it would just be easier of packing just just recyclable and then anyone would instantly know.
My mum has been at it for years and I'm always putting all the wrong things in all the wrong places.I'm only a red belt lol.
They don’t take glass bottles or jars where I live in Scotland. And the big nescaffe jars won’t fit in the recycling banks in the village so I have to put them in the bin and our recycling centre in town doesn’t accept glasses in the glass bottle banks so they need to go into general waste. It’s absolutely bizarre. We were emptying my others half’s property and we had loads of glasses that had to go in general waste 
Trash is trash, tbh. I'm not going to worry about what's recyclable or isn't.
If they want to separate and organize it, they have employees to do it.
In Birmingham recycling is encourage by the council by giving every householder a grey weekly waste wheelie bin, a fortnightly blue recycling wheelie bin and a paid for brown wheelie bin for grass cuttings.
Yeah. Where iam I. Scotland it's a box for thick corrugated cardboard, another box for thin cardboard and paper. A weighted bag for plastic and tin. Then a separate box for glass. A separate box for food waste and a bag for batteries. It's a nightmare.. to remember it all.we get recycling done every week though. brown bin for grass, etc every 4 weeks. And general waste every 2 weeks
