Hi I purchased a radiator cover I didn't realise it had to be built its in 2 parts but they are different shades of white my partner built it when I was at work and binned the packaging normally when I buy radiator covers they come in a big box all built could I return this item in a different box I bought it from amazon
I have returned stuff to Amazon in home made boxes K , as long as you have a return label and there is plenty of protection from damage i don't see a problem
Maybe call Amazon customer service for advice ?
I returned an oven to Amazon in a different box. I did contact Amazon first to let them know I didn't have the original box and they told me to put the returns label on and it would be ok.
Yes you should be able to return it in a different box. Maybe contact amazon just to let them know that it will be in a different box. I'm not seeing the 2 different shades tbh.
I thought you could for faulty returns or not as described but for something you just don't like it normally has to be sent back as originally received.
BonzoBanana to me it is faulty as its in 2 parts and both different shades one end is really white and the other half is a of white colour you can't see it properly in the photo can you see where the join is lol thanks for your comment
Amazon generally don’t seem too fussed what packaging you return items in, not entirely convinced they check most returns anyway
jjs1985 Years ago I was sent an old bicycle wheel as a Amazon Warehouse item. It was clear the original purchaser had just kept the new 27.5" wheel and just returned an old wheel he had. Amazon were great but I did worry they would think I was the one returning an old wheel when I sent it back. Maybe they do pictures of what they send out from the warehouse because they didn't even question my return. Perhaps they knew the original purchaser was a criminal and had already banned him or her.
BonzoBanana it’s probably more hassle for Amazon to check and question every return that to save time and no money they don’t. Unless maybe it’s a high expense item
I have done it before but not sure what the rules are. I’m sure i read that you can return stuff as long as it’s in a saleable condition.
Yes you can use your own packaging, if it's free returns, you don't have to package it, post office does it
If it's a big parcel Amazon usually use Evri to pick up your parcel. If you need a big box try your local shops or supermarkets. Hope this helps you and let us know how you get on with your return.
As far as I am aware that is fine. Many times I have purchased an item and got rid of the packaging then for some reason, usually a fault, the item has to go back. They can’t expect you to keep the packaging until a guarantee runs out.
eyeballkerry I still havnt contacted amazon yet I have been working everyday iam off on Friday need to do it then I just hate complaining and sending items back they might think nothing is wrong with the radiator cover thanks for your comment
Yes I have done this plenty of times as long as it doesn't get damaged its perfectly fine
