Roast My Shop (Sainsburys)

Money Saving

Lots of people use different supermarkets and some keep to the same supermarket pretty much all the time. Anyway just for a sort of shopping related topic I thought I'd put my sainsburys shop that arrived today in the chat so you could complain about the price and maybe quality of the items I've purchased; Maybe you think its too expensive or maybe actually quite cheap. Anyway here it is (I did use a £12 off £60 coupon) plus I got about 30p back in nectar points and went through topcashback so may get 95p cashback on top. The quantity is at the front so if its 4 you will need to divide by 4 to get the individual price. If you want to work out the true cost per item after the £12 coupon take off 20% from each item. I.e. the 200g of decaf gold roast was £2.

I’ve never bought Stamford branded product so can’t comment but I am impressed with 4 x tuna 145g price. I’d be very happy paying that.

Pjran Stamford is just a generic brand that I guess replaced Sainsbury's old value brand which might have been 'Basics'. Much of it is the same as similar products at Tesco or Asda etc.

I don’t shop a lot at Sainsbury’s but we do bulk buy the Stamford mild cheddar as it seems one of the cheapest around.

It looks quite cheap to be honest with you. I dont buy branded things nowadays because of being ripped off. Nice shopping too.

My bit of shopping from Iceland on my walk back from work Wednesday morning after I had been at work since 9am Tuesday morning, hence not spotting it til I sat down at home after..

I saved £1.28 for the Over 60's ,NOT even 60 yet!!

I have always been told I look young for my age, used to get ID'd on nights out,my friend & I were nearly thrown out of pub a month before her 20th birthday & my 27th birthday for being underaged drinkers back in April '92!!

TiaTia I must admit some of it is really good. The apple pie was very nice, actually looked and tasted like a premium apple pie and the fish fingers were actual cod for 80p where as I had some from either Lidl or Aldi (not sure) and they were a low quality minced fish (allsorts) and actually more expensive and the coating wasn't as nice either. I was surprised they were cod actually as normally its lower grade fish in cheap fish fingers. Also it cost me £1 for delivery yet I reckon if I go to a store its probably costing me £3 in car wear/fuel and about 1 1/2hr in time. Lastly I can get all I need at Sainsburys where as Lidl, Aldi and Iceland is a more limited selection causing multiple trips. Overall quite impressed.
