I have never experienced an argument in the cinema or theatre but it does annoy that people can not sit still and be quiet, unless reacting to the film.

Like you telmel, I hate when i'm watching a movie and other people around me are rustling crisp packets. Also when their mobiles light up when they keep checking their phones.

When we go to the cinema I usually take a snack with us but always open it before the film starts.

I really don't understand people's needs to munch their way through performances, can they not go without food for 2 hours or so. It is crass indecency to spoil anothers enjoyment, especially with the cost of tickets. A drink, yes, food, no. But of course cinemas especially make their money from pushing scandalously expensive snacks.

Yeah I’d be pretty annoyed in that situation as well. They’ve paid a lot to listen to the performance.

Ultimately, it's the venues fault for selling popcorn. In the case of cinemas, most of their profits comes from the sale of food & drink. Some cinemas have taken the dining experience to a different level, for example, Everyman and Odeon Luxe venues. Where you can order a wider selection of food & drink, from a menu, while seated in the auditorium. Consequently, you can be disturbed by venue staff bringing Spielburgers (available at Everyman), pizzas, beer, cocktails, etc to customers during the screening.

I go to the cinema quite a lot, so have seen my share of heated exchanges. Including an older couple having a loud shouting argument from one side of the auditorium to the other. One of them didn't like the film and wanted to leave, the other person wanted to stay.

Ar last night's performance at the Albert Hall we had to endure a woman stuffing her face with crisps as if watching Netflix! When I tutted her and her husband became rather aggressive!
