Rude Place Names, Do You Live near Any?

Haha love it. All the places where I am are in French.

I love seeing rude place names

We have a place near where we live that my mother in law pronounces wrong every time. It isn't actually rude if pronounced correctly but it is very rude the way she says it.

So many funny names, could you imagine having to give your address as butthole lane!

Just a few weeks ago we were watching the weather when the weather man mentioned a place in West Midlands called.... Lickey end that got many giggles in our house.

These have given me a right giggle! I don't think I'd actually buy a house on any of those streets

I've been to a pub in Cockwood, Devon.

Although, these are fairly tame. Street names in the middle ages could be downright obscene and offensive.

Some of these where probably clean when named and over time the words have changed meaning but I do love it.

I don’t live near any rude named villages but I do have to spell out our address constantly

I do live by Farting lane and also about 15 miles from the wonderful place called Bell End which has to be quite a place to live.

I wonder how long they will be allowed to remain before someone gets 'offended' and wants the names changed

There are many in London that changed their spelling in the Victorian era, Passing Alley in the City is a prime example, simple change of vowel rather than a complete change.
