Been reading more of the article this morning. Unfortunately someone died another two critical. The gun man was shot. When will America wake up and ban guns? What are your thoughts on this?

Saw it on the news this morning. There are already conspiracy theories around the shooting. Such a shame that someone has died. America definitely needs tougher gun laws.

eyeballkerry I went when I was a teenager. Been to New York, Florida and Miami. Can't say I have a desire to go back again.
eyeballkerry we took the kids to usa well over 40 years ago and one of our stops was Lake Tahoe. We stayed in a motel and went for pizza, next morning we heard there had been a shooting there shortly after we left. That's the closest I ever want to get to guns!
Politicians loyal to Trump have been blaming Biden and the Democrats, but it seems like the shooter was a registered Republican.

It’s an ongoing argument. Some Americans would like to make illegal but there are still too many powerful gun groups that insist on having them. Then they are for defence not attack. Of course attacks continue.
I can't say I have followed the story avidly but of course I know the bare bones and found out today it was a 20 year old (he looked 15). Please correct me if I am wrong but have not heard one word of regret or sorrow for the killed and injured from Trump. Just 'I should be dead' and bemoaning his own situation. He would rise in my estimation if, with all his wealth, he paid for the dead man's funeral and gave a substantial amount to the widow and her kids as compensation.

Majority of Americans want changes in gun laws but you have the politicians who get a lot of money from the gun manufactures. They also mention the right to keep and bear arms in the US and is protected by the Second Amendment of the Constitution. I doubt they will change that Amendment even though if you asked the citizens I’m certain they would like it changed. We only hear of mass shootings over here but they have fatal shootings several times a day. Everyone they mention mental health issues and they turn round and say it’s not the guns that is an issue!! But if there were stricter rules/banned they wouldn’t be able to buy a gun so easily to do this mass shootings. Some states do have gun laws.
I have visited the U.S in 1996 for 3 months. Then in 1998 and I then returned in 2017 the later year I felt a huge difference over there and I visited Virginia, Washington DC, New York, Boston and surrounding areas.
As a whole America is a beautiful country and very multi cultural and they certainly need to change their gun laws and many other laws as in some states women have no rights over their own bodies. But that’s another debate!
There is no way they can ban guns at this stage, there is just too many in their country for that to be a realistic thing.
Add to that the fact that a sizeable portion of the population say it’s their right to bear arms and yeah it’s never happening.

SebK84 WHY would Donald Trump or the Secret Service agents staged it? Real people have been killed or seriously injured without any rehearsal. Shame on you for even thinking like this. I am no fan of Donald Trump and The Republican Party (members), but I have enough senses to know right from wrong.
What you actually saw was a political stunt at the expense of 2 human lives.
