In this hot weather would you swim in the sea? Personally I haven’t for years. There’s a lot in the news about water quality and sewage releases. My sister still does but the most I’m prepared to do is paddle up to my knees but no further. If it wasn’t so dirty it would be nice.
I live near the sea but have never been tempted to do any more than walk along the seashore with the grandkids. I hate all the kerfuffle that goes with a swimming pool let alone the beach.
Where I live not a chance would I jump in the sea, however I'm ok in other areas after investigation
. Yes Portsmouth a busy international place. Brighton is going the same way except it’s not a port. 
I use too, but I've been really put off by all the recent news about sewage releases so don't do more than paddling now. I think it needs to be urgently dealt with and funded through reduced bonuses for Ceos and shareholders.
my wife is a sea swimming fanatic at the moment and the sewage hasnt put her off - although there have been times she has had to choose different beaches due to various warnings. Luckily Devon & Cornwall have plenty of decent beaches to choose from. It is stall a national shame / scandal that this has been allowed to continue for so long. But then this current government clearly has no sense of shame at all
I love outdoor swimming .It toughens the immune system but I would be a tad disconcerted if a **** drifted by lol.
