My Son Cleaned His room.....
Other
Yesterday my 18yr old cleaned his room out.... great I hear you say !!!! Let me explain.... Now my landing has a pile of bin bags ready to go in the loft.... my bedroom has a couple of large piles of clothes and ‘stuff’ he’s not sure what to do with. Every cleaning implement and product is out in the kitchen on the work tops and on the floor. ‘Spare’ furniture items are in the kitchen and have spilled out on to my drive (drawers a desk a bedside table and some shelves) and my laundry basket is now a mountain waiting to be climbed !!! My whole house has suffered his efforts and he didn’t even get round to hoovering his carpet
Lol, so basically his clear out meant loads more work for you! But I suppose it is a step in the right direction, now all you need to do is get him to finish the job........bribery?
Its certainly keeping me busy on my day off !!! Trouble was he found £20 in amongst his piles of dirty washing which meant he had petrol money as he was nearing the end of the clean.... I heard a yeeeehar he flashed the note at me and shot out of the door. It’s his pay day today so finding £20 yesterday was like a lotto win
Oh dear!! Maybe anything he leaves on the drive is a good excuse for a yard sale. Bye bye to that "spare" desk or drawer you don't need and hello cash for more deals!
I think they are beyond saving to be honest but I’ve put a sign on them free to whoever wants them
Now just need to keep him maintain his room....maybe should tell him, he can only go out if he done with the cleaning...Motivate him.
Charity stores take unwanted furniture free.
Its beyond charity shop i think. Hes 18 so a tad too old to be grounded but i have told him he needs to keep it clean or there will be a rent increase.... that should motivate him !
When 18 year old boys clean their rooms it usually means they're going to try and smuggle a girl friend in. It's up to you to sort the rest of the house out, if you don't want her to form a poor opinion of you.
If by chance you've still got his childhood Teddy - you need to put it in his bed with just it's head sticking out and on his pillow - I did!
We laughed about it for many years.
