What Do You Dislike Most About Taking Online Surveys?

Other

Many of us have enjoyed replying to the competition irritants thread, so I thought I'd make a survey irritants one.

Surveys are a great way to share your opinion and earn rewards, but they do have their drawbacks. One for me would be disabling your account with no reason given... Lifepoints I am looking at you. Another one is when I spend 10 or more minutes filling out a survey only to then be screened out.

Have you checked out Panelbase and TGM Panel? Those two survey sites have good star rating and reviews on paidfromsurveys.com/. Maybe you could check out OnePulse and Prolific. Doing studies on Prolific helps people who are studying at university. You get to help people from all over the world.

RichardDoolin Yes, I am on Panelbase and I'm not doing too badly with that one. I will check out the others you mention also.

My account on Lifepoints was also disabled for no reason. Luckily I had cashed out so didn't lose anything. My biggest irritation is when I get all the way to the end of the survey and then it tells me I'm not eligible for whatever reason. Really annoys me. Other than that I've not got any complaints.

I noticed Valued Opinions asked for a photo of my ID last time I went to claim my voucher. I actually forgot to do it as didn't have time. I found that a bit strange.

MrsCraig I totally agree with about getting to the end and you do not get paid. I do try to report these. One of the worse ones for trying to claim back is Lifepoints as they ask for the survey number. I now screen shot the survey page before starting any surveys now on that site.

eyeballkerry it is very annoying as I've wasted my time! I don't use Lifepoints anymore, there are other sites that I much prefer.

MrsCraig I find AttaPoll and Valued is good at solving problems but a lot of them just ignore me or ask questions about a week later and I have totally forgot the issue. I have started to make notes of these ones. I find Opinion Outpost good at the moment.

eyeballkerry I like Valued Opinions and Opinion Outpost too. Never had any issues with Opinion Outpost but agree that Valued Opinions is good at solving any issues.

MrsCraig According to the reviews on Trustpilot, many others have been having the same problem with Lifepoints.

I'm not sure I agree with asking someone for photo ID. Seems a bit intrusive.

MrsCraig Years ago I earned enough points with Opinion Outpost to claim 3 x £5 Amazon vouchers and never got them. They closed down shortly. So I am surprised they are still around.

RegularComper90 No way would I provide photo ID to get anything from a survey site.

RegularComper90 I might have read it wrong as I did read it very quickly. I don't think you can claim your vouchers if you don't provide it.

MrsCraig yes when I have spent 15 minutes to be told survey is now full or I am not suitable. That is so annoying.

agree with the comments about lifepoints - I am just waiting to reach a claim point so I can close the account. Its the ones where they send you an invite - then ask 4 or 5 different questions - only to telll you that you dont qualify. Panelbase is probably my favourite at the moment as there are plenty of invites and most actually end in a reward.

Is anybody else finding that since YLive became known as YLive they have been getting screened out more often? When it was Populus I was only screened out about every 1 in 5 surveys. But now it's more like 1 in 2 surveys.

RegularComper90 definitely! my total points has hardly gone up over the last few months. Just waiting to hit the £50 and then will stop them I think.

I haven't actually noticed that. I used to get screened out when I put my job in for some strange reason, but that seems to have stopped. I wouldn't say that I got screened out of any more than normal, well that I've noticed anyway.

Only getting paid peanuts for your time which seems to be getting less and less. I don’t do ipos anymore after they significantly reduced the points for each survey and I did tell them that. I also stopped you.gov for the same reason and it takes forever to get to their equivalent £50 withdrawal amount it’s unrealistic.

I now only complete opinuim and maximiles as these are generally short.

It’s a shame really as I do genuinely like giving an opinion but I don’t see why I should make these private companies money if they can’t properly pass some of that money back to people undertaking the surveys especially when some can take up to 30 minutes- we do have a minimum wage so paying 50p is insulting for someone’s time again to make them money

Too long.

I only do surveys when it's to get free coffee/gelato at BK, which I've reduced to maybe once per month.

Free refills is what kept me going, but got tired of it.

I've been signed up to a survey site for years. For a little bit time now, they only want 'high end' people such as business owners or owners of luxury cars etc. I've recently completed ed surveys for a magazine that state they are 7 mins long and take 20. I've done them when I'm not busy for the sake of timing them!

Over the years I have found which survey sites work for me and I stick them. I do surveys when I'm watching TV, gives us some extra money and gives me something to do with my time.

Yeah screening out is an annoyance for sure or when the sites say you will get x amount of points for survey lasting 10 minutes only to then go through it all and they change the reward and length

I am happy to complete a survey but if the time it takes is shown and it's likely to be more than 10 minutes, I'd decline the invitation.

I took a survey yesterday for Branded. I watched a whole episode of a drama and answered questions. This took over an hour. I was awarded 50 points, which isn’t even 50p. I feel totally scammed by them. I have reported it.
