What are everybody's opinions on tanning beds? I know a lot of people are against them as they are pretty harmful to your skin but some people think they are harmless.. what do you think?
I personally would not want to pay money to lie under ultraviolet electromagnetic radiation to force the very useful organ coating my body to indicate to me that it is being damaged through the production of melanin. It is actually safer though than choosing to damage your skin outside, when administered properly, as you will not be damaged by UV-B radiation. Thankfully we have the option of chemical pigmentation of the skin with cosmetic sprays that is the option I would choose if I ever felt my general hue was not to my liking.
i avoid getting a tan always use factor 50 on sunny days so wouldn't use a tanning bed even if i had time with 2 little ones
I think it has been well proven that they are NOT harmless and, each to their own, but I would go so far as to say ban them.
I think they should be banned. Why anyone would risk their health to look tanned is beyond me. There are alternatives that do not cause harm so I don't get why people keep using them. Using them substantially increases your chances of cancer.
