You Can Teach an Old Dog New Tricks!

I have often moaned about fb and instagram and have never been able to work them out. However, my son showed me over new year how to use tik tok. We got two history bites posted and since coming home did 2 more on my own!
I am so keen to use my love of history and hope to post regularly, so no silly posts from me! I still have a lot to learn and am aware i need to work at it to get likes and followers. Next project is to finish my pirate book and granddaughter has promised to help me me get it on amazon kindle, should keep me busy through winter!
Hmmm gonna be honest I'm 38 this month and I don't have a clue about Instagram or tik tok I'd only look into them if my daughter wanted to do account but that won't be for a while yet as she's asked and I've already said no
Leannexxx I must admit so far I have not found anything offensive on tik tok but then I am using it for my own postings as I want to build up a following which I hope will lead to live debates and publicity for the book. But I have always thought kids should be protected from social media, so good for you!.
Lynibis she asked me about a app called house party because her friends was on it I looked into it that was a no too lucky she doesn't kick off or moan when I say no she's got what's app that's enough in my eyes and her phone is set to that only people in her phone book can call her
Tik Tok not my cup of tea but if if you're gonna throw some real learning in the mix then I'm onside. Good as well to work alongside the younger generation. Well done. Always good to have a project in hand I think.
MelissaLee1 thank you Mel, yes definitely educational and bitesize with hopefully catchy pic and sound effects. Anyone welcome to look as I am under historynutter, not my real name lol.
Lynibis I'll hunt you down in the next few days I need some History catch up.Probably my worst subject at school.Learning as a grown up always more fun.
MelissaLee1 I can't believe how many women, some weeping, staring at the camera and claiming their partners have left them saying they were not beautiful, they always are! Then they plaintively ask do you think I am beautiful, would you date me? Talk about fishing for compliments...but they get thousands of likes!
Fair play to ya, I have tiktok, but only for liking brands to try and get freebie pop us, I wouldn't have a clue how to post anything myself
slightfoot I found it very difficult and wonder how people manage without good tuition. It is something I really wanted to do so persevered with my son patiently teaching me. I wish I could find classes in social media. Although I don't approve of the dangers and triviality I would use it sensibly and for wholesome content. (People don't seem to want that though).
Tik tok isn't for me and my children are not allowed it, children are influenced enough without seeing all the crap on there, good luck with your book
martinlufc5637 thank you and rest assured that (even though you don't use it) my content will always be educational, never rude or silly.
martinlufc5637 , Never been interested in Tik Tok,it came up in my apps after having this phone repaired after 6 months use...I DELETED it
Partner &,Daughter only go on WhatsApp, daughter has NEVER been interested in Social Media
Well I have to say, against my dislike of social media, that I am well and truly hooked. So far I have posted once a day, hopefully snippets that are fun, true and interesting. I have been really pleased with the likes, views and followers but of course nowhere near the numbers of die hard tik tokkers. It doesn't take me long so not wasting time and another little thing to add to my daily routine. I think my grandkids are quite amazed lol.
I am now quite well established with my tik tok venture and managing to post daily. If any of you have the app look me up and I will give you a follow. My creator name is historybites and am @historynutter.
Still not clever enough to make longer vids to give more info so need more tutoring, but I will get there!
