Should Teachers Get a Pay Rise?

Should teachers get a pay rise?
They received a 6.5% increase last year, but unions argue that it’s already been eroded by years of real-term pay cuts. Time for another increase?
I’m sure this exact topic was posted about a week or two back? I’ll go and check just to make sure cause maybe I’m going mad?
He'll yeah and not just teachers support staff. I've had racial slurs thrown at me among other abuse in the last 2 weeks. I've 2 more days at work. Don't know how I've made it in. My colleague who's support staff as well the other week had to lock herself and kids in a class to keep them from being attacked by another kid. We get abused by parents. Only workplace where abuse of staff is acceptable. You work in any other government departments and signs are up about abuse, how police will be called you will be barred. Schools it's like oh well suck it up. If it affects your mental health suck it up and toughen up. I work in a primary school. We get sworn at, hit punched kicked bitten. Told we are going to die. Parents claim it's us not their kid. I know people in secondary schools where parents flip if kids get suspended or a detention. They don't flip at the kid but the school. It's awful
