Tesco Delivery Problems?
Ask a Question
Been having a few problems with my Tesco deliveries lately.
Last time they didn't send my lime jelly and today they sent me out of date food?
Maybe the picker today went out on the lash last night?
Anyone else had trouble with them lately?
Ill be able to give you an update on Wednesday as thats my next click and collect. I have previously had mushrooms which has a best before date the day I collected my groceries at 7pm and milk which was going to expire in 3 days. But recently not had that many issues - will let you know if anything happens Wednesday!
I wouldn't be too happy with food that had a best before date, but this was use by.
They have refunded me though.
TheChimp I couldn’t even check until I got home and then I couldn’t even refund
Last week the chicken I ordered had a use by date for the following day when usually they have very good dates on them. Mildly irksome but didn't matter too much. I just used it earlier than planned. Other then that, Nope. TBH I rarely have issues with Tesco. I have however had a recent convo with my sis tho, who has had a few issues recently. (Bad dates/items not arriving/crap substitutes) I order C&C for Monday mornings she gets a delivery on Wednesdays. I think it's the differing order times IMO.
Glitterandgold At least they sent me my sour rocket lollies
I've always found Customer Services pretty good and they're very helpful. But they really shouldn't be sending out food that's past the use by date.
Yes, often with food out of date the day I get my shop or the day after, my shop is coming tomorrow but I've been struggling with errors on their site and it being sooo slow, it's taking forever, is it ok for everyone else?
Yes took me hours to get my shop done today as it kept telling me to retry due to connection problems, but when i checked, i was connected fine! Also, have had some short dates lately, and had to complain.Iceland worse, deliver mine last every time, &ice cream melted when it arrived.
JoTarpley it probably had! The Iceland stuff one tub (carte dor) had melted so much it was all squashed down at one side, must had something heavier on top! & other round tub was sloshing around inside like cold soup! And a bag of ice cubes were melting down so when i put them in chest freezer they all iced back up in clumps!
Caz2 OMG don't mention ice cubes I thought I'd had the brilliant idea of buying them frozen to save the mess in my freezer as I've had a couple of 'trying circumstances' but I didn't recon on Tesco part thawing them only to refreeze them and giving me solid lumps that I'm swinging against the worktops to try and break, it's ridiculous what we go through shopping online!! x
Id bash them against worktops instead but they really are so old they might collapse! (Though housing might replace them then?maybe im on to something here@Caz2
I haven't had any issues with them. Our deliveries have had all the items and have had good use by or best before dates.
At least they have refunded you, although it is annoying that you have food that is out of date.
I get delivery from Tesco every week, and once the delivery was 9p.m and got 3 x boxes of free range chicken breast expiry date the same day , I was like do you expect me to cook at 9p.m ? Got money back as complain on Twitter, another time organic strawberries the same next day was the expiry date , again got money back , last monday I got all my vegies I ordered for Sunday roast and expiry date was next day, I was so annoyed as I do big shopping for whole week cost me between £150-£200 a week and the Food they deliver seems like I should be eating it by Wednesday, ridiculous. The customer service on twitter is good they refund the money but it means I have to go to tesco to buy new items .
Thats the trouble, you have to go replace them then, and whole point is i ordered online/got delivery so i wouldnt have to.And yes i too buy to include weekend food but youve to end up eating it all by first couple of days then- its ridiculous!
I've found Tesco deliveries have been poor during lockdown.
For the last month I've been using Sainsbury's, food is nicer, fruit is fresher.
Sainsburys have longer shelf life.and if i DO go to a store i prefer M&S as their use by dates are good too.But prices bit high to do often :/
I not had a problem with either supermarket i always put note to picker not today or tomorrows date please.
Another thing that I wasn't impressed with was that my eggs came in a plastic container. They normally come in cardboard which is much better for the environment.
I often have same day or next day sell by dates or best before from Sainsbury's. However it does not take long to check dates and if not happy hand back to driver, I am always refunded next day.
Driver once told me that the shoppers are expected to do 60 items per hour so it is no wonder errors are made.
Yes, TheChimp I sometimes got emails saying some items are near expiry if you don't want them give back to driver. They no longer do that but the driver last delivery was excellent and asked me to check dates and give him any I didn't want. I was also disappointed to find my eggs, same ones every order, were in plastic instead of cardboard, regression or what!
I think the way they sell online is ridiculous. The correct thing would be for deliveries to leave a warehouse and not for a person to go through the supermarket shelves to find the products that the customer bought online, this does not make any sense.
I think so too, it would also mean, in this pandemic situation, that the foods get touched by less people
Nope, my tesco have always been really polite and good service. I ordered from asda and had silly substitutes, the delivery man was so rude, no social distanceing even when asked. I told him I was high risk so leave it on the door, he got the crates as i was trying to shut the door and pushed it open with it and put them on the hall floor told me to "Hurry us as he was late for other people", no ppe on either . My jaw hit the floor, ill stick with tesco!
I've just had a delivery with tomatoes and salad out of date tomorrow and 3 badly squashed loaves of bread, I despair!! x
TheChimp Oh noooooo!! What do they do eh??
My delivery man had trouble on his phone trying to get refunds for my items, the site kept pinging him back to the start so I said I was having that too, when I was trying to order, and I asked him about the slow site, I said it's taking me hours to do my shopping, he said that the office people are still working from home so the site hasn't been updated in all this time plus, with the extra people they have now, they have more or less doubled the people using their site but he was hoping it won't be much longer until things get back to normal, but what is normal with Tesco, I dread to think!! x
I'm having problems too. I'm having things missing that are suppose to be there and I've paid for. First it was toilet rolls and kitchen rolls which there did delivery the next day. Then it was cheese. Last time it was a pack of rice. I'm hoping my delivery tomorrow is ok.
