Is This This Type of Graffiti a Work of Art ?

In the News

I don't know about you but i get fed up of seeing graffiti scrawled everywhere , wherever there is a blank space you will find some idiot has monikered their signature be it on a window security shutter or motorway bridge

But when i read this story and saw how beautiful the art was i started to warm towards it in a positive way

Street artists are turning grey and bleak urban areas into bright and colourful ones with this skilled art

Even a councillor who is a BCBC Cabinet Member for Regeneration supports these artists and has had anti graffiti solution painted over the artists work to prevent anyone else going over it

I really love this street art certainly brightens the area up. Hopefully incourages young people to do art and express themselves in a positive way. Plus take care and pride in where they live.

KAW18 Me too K, it makes a change from the scrawl you see the amateurs make a mess with

If its just names and swear words then no. If it's a statement or a picture then yes. It can brighten up a place. It's context

I think that everyone's idea of art is totally individual. I personally think graffiti is messy but sure some love it

jamiemat I think if they are covering walls in a slum area that have gone to disrepair then there is no harm , providing the art is like that we can see here

I just don't like these ridiculous signatures that blight businesses and sometimes historic landmarks, that is criminal

Big difference between tagging and good quality street art. I've seen some amazing street art in and around London.Love this one Image

I think street art is amazing and much more interesting than boring concrete. People tagging their name however is more like vandalism than art.
