Uber Eats Delivery Man Caught Stealing! Has This Happened to You?

Ask a Question

Yesterday I decided to order from Uber Eats and get it delivered. I have video footage of him outside SOMEONE else's property putting the food down. He can be seen taking the picture of the food. He picks the food back up and put it in his delivery bag, back on his motorcycle and drives away with stolen food.

I contacted Uber and they responded the man 'attempted to contact me', this is a LIE, I received no missed called.

They said he 'waited several minutes' this is a LIE, on the camera footage he can be seen waiting less than 1 minute.

I actually contacted him through the app (wish I had taken the number and registered plate!) via a support number. He answered and said I wrote the wrong address! Lies. Lies. Lies.

Uber NEVER refunded me. This is actually the second time this has happened. Uber are thieves. There is just a support team via the app or website and no contact number.

The only good thing was I ordered through PayPal and luckily got my refund that way.

I bet this has happened to loads of people. I feel like Uber Eats should take more responsibility and further actions should be taken against them.

That’s bad! We can’t use the delivery service anyway because of coeliac disease and they can’t guarantee free from contamination. Glad you got refund but deserve a formal complaint and bad review.

At least you managed to get a refund. Unfortunately delivery fraud is very common and the verification method of taking a photo as proof is flawed if the people taking it are not trustworthy.

I was the victim of delivery fraud but paypal wouldn’t refund me since there was a picture of my item infront of the store.

Awful. Not a surprise though. During rona I'd gotten a takeaway and apparently the driver knocked and rung us. Neither happened and the takeaway had been on the doorstep for 45 minutes going cold. Good job you used paypal. User eats needs to do more I agree.

The depths to which peop!e will sink never ceases to amaze me. Firstly Uber should be investigating this person and after a warning he should be sacked if another incident happens. Also if he says he rang that can easily be verified on his call history and even yours showing you did not receive a call.

I am surprised they didn't want to see the camera footage as surely they would want to know what happened to the food, would tend to suggest they're in it together. Finally who on earth would give the wrong address, no one, especially if ordering food.

Shame! You can't trust most delivery or customer services these days. For most, it's only about profit, not customer satisfaction 🙄

I ordered fruit and vegetables delivery via Uber and one bag out of four was delivered. There was a special deal on for that day, Uber ended up refunding me for all non delivered items at full price however the price was more than my order, so l finished up with a the small part of my order for free and a profit. Annoying but at least my complaint was dealt....

This has happened to me during Covid, we paid PayPal and got a full refund. However Uber kept the debit on my account for three years. The day a cracked as a needed a taxi, it cost me £35.99 before I even ordered a taxi as the funds were debited from my card! 😡

7gjgtbf576 Wow that is quite interesting. Definitely will make me think twice about using Uber. I'm not sure if I have used them to be honest. I might have done a first order offer and thats it. I use foodhub and don't think I've ever had any issues at all.

I ordered McDonald’s through Uber Eats. They said they delivered it, liar. It’s not on my ring doorbell camera. They said they delivered it to a different number as he couldn’t find my number. The number he said he delivered it to doesn’t exist! Got a refund, never again! 🤬

I was sent wrong items in my order. Uber eats refused to refund for those items I did not receive and said leave a review for the restaurant. Refused to escalate the matter

That's terrible.. its the individuals who ruin it for the rest but Food companies should do more to ensure this doesn't happen. Like they could ask employees to take a picture of them handing the food delivery over to the customer.

You should share the story further, it ridiculous that these companies get away with having no customer service or protection. Until customers start leaving in large numbers due to bad publicity they just won’t care.

Thank you all for your comments. I have read every single one and empathise with you.

I do want to take this further but don't know how. The Uber Eats support team are absolutely rubbish and all they have been sending is automated responses saying 'driver waited' - lies, 'attempted to contact' - more lies. Useless.

Any suggestions on how to take this further? Trust pilot is not enough. Change will happen in numbers and you all here are ALL examples of unsatisfied customers
