Do you use Supermarket Loyalty Cards?
I'd love to know which ones you think are the most worth it. Do you save up you Nectar points and use it off your Xmas Food Shop? Or exchange Clubcard vouchers for Disney+?
I use Tesco, Nectar & Asda. Tesco I get the most use out of. Iv been saving ours up to use againt purchases at Christmas. In the past iv used points to purchase some lovely Denby bits.
Asda gets the least use but I was surprised to see I earnt just over £10 on there from a recent shop.
Yes I am a Nectar point addict! I get loads of bonus points through ebay, American Express, my home insurance, energy and Sainsbury's groceries but can't bring myself to spend them....
Yes I have them all:
Asda and tesco- shop in regularly and use the cash pot and clubcard vouchers as I go
Sainsburys- never shop in there, but I get the codes of the back of the mail newspapers at work, and have 2accounts, both linked to nectar servays(more points), save them up all year and cash out for Xmas, usually £50-£100 across both accounts each year
Morrisons- shop in there but never seem to get anything back
Co-op- great for deals and money off coupons
Nectar points are most worth it for me but only because I collect regularly in more than one place. I only ever save about £10 worth of points before spending...
Yeah most of them but its hard to check all of them as the competition is very tough they all bombard with different deals for most you have to open & check
I had a LIDL account, but I'd only get any real deals if I spent a lot each month so I deleted it.
I'm kind of tired of having a rewards account for every freakin' grocery store. I'm glad Aldi doesn't do it.
I literally all of them and my top5 are
Tesco
Nectar
Hillard's and Barratts
Sparks
Boots
Yes u heard me right m&s sparks card will surprise u they have cheap stuff there if u know where to look and if u add some of your sparks offers deffo the prices come down
I have several loyalty cards. Coop: I got back £28 dividend (six months shop), Tesco, Nectar, Boots, Morrison, Holland & Barrett (nothing for the past 3 years!), Superdrug online, B&Q, John Lewis, Waitrose, and some others I have not used. I use my points or dividend as soon as possible.
I make the most of Asda rewards, manage to save a nice tidy amount. Just started with Nectar.
Store card addict, love the Boits advantage card, especially £10 worth of points, that's when I stock up!
I collect Tesco clubcard points. However, if you exchange them for a deal with hotels.com/ watch out. I booked a 3 night stay in a hotel and exchanged enough points to pay for the total and found out immediately afterwards that the total included taxes which had to be paid for separately. This meant that I overpaid my points by £45 worth in this instance and had £45 to pay in cash for the taxes. There is no warning or advice on this. I can't claim back the points I lost either. On a more positive note I managed to do the deal when Tesco were giving triple points. It's double points only now.
I have Lidl, Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury and Boots. Don't use my Sainsbury one often as closest one is about 40 minutes away. Got £11.50 in my Asda cashpot today due to the £10 September offer they had. Also got an extra 600 boots points on stuff that I needed to buy anyway. I use my Lidl one a lot as do my main shop there. Get 10% off every month so stock up on stuff then, and save money throughout the month with their offers. I don't shop any more than I normally would, I just use them when I shop to get extra benefits etc.
I have cards for all the main supermarkets but my favourite is Nectar and using the smart shop app for extra points even on low priced items, which add up nicely towards a Christmas shop and a few treats.
I have loads of store cards and use them all every time I shop. They say the best one to use is Iceland if you load £20 onto your bonus card. Never done this, I do like my free coffee from Waitrose and my weekly vouchers from them.
Get the most from Tesco as thats where I do the main shop. Asda Rewards is pretty good but I only shop there when I catch the bus home from work or I run out of anything. M&S * Nectar cards also used occasional if I find myself in their shops. The best Tesco deal was a years worth of deliveries paid for when you could still get 3x the value.
I use Tesco clubcard. I save alot of money in reducing prices. But then I use the vouchers against my future shops comes in handy especially at Christmas.
KAW18 You definitely need a Clubcard to shop in Tesco otherwise you end up paying quite a bit more.
I have got loyalty cards but my most used one is Nectar, the trouble is I have over £250 on my card now but don't like to spend my points just like to see my pot grow. I should do really in case anything happened to my card.
Yes,
I have most of them, but I spend my points when I can. As if they suddenly decide to discontinue them, the company closes, disappears or even people managing to use your points. Then they are often gone for good.
If you are saving for Christmas, I’d recommend spending the points but you can put what you spent in points in a separate bank account. So they are still your saved points but you won’t randomly loose them. Plus you can also spend them where you want to then!
I have loyalty cards for most places I shop - including all of the supermarkets. I know that Which have published research showing how some retailers are inflating prices then offering you a saving using the loyalty card but the bottom line is that if you need to buy something at a particular time and the loyalty card price is lower than the current full price you are indeed saving money. I think the most important thing is always to shop sensibly, use a supermarket price comparison website and plan ahead. I am lucky that I have most of the major supermarkets plus the discounters within a few miles so can shop in different stores quite easily, this coupled with the comparison tool enables me to shop where the best price is available and to monitor prices and buy in bulk for some things when there is a special deal. You also need to watch out for coupons in newspapers etc it's up to us to do everything we can to save money
The Boots loyalty card was always a good one but their prices are much higher than the likes of Savers or B&M that it doesn't pay to shop there unless it's for something nobody else has or they are offering special deals which they often do.
The bottom line is all retailers are out to maximise their profits so you have to shop wisely.
