All My Points Have Gone - I Can't See Any
If all your points have gone and you can't see any at all, please read this help guide: Help - Where Have All My Points Gone?
The first thing you should do is check your points log:
How to Check Your Points Log
- Login to Latest Deals
- Go to your points page
- Scroll down until you find your points log (see below for example screenshot)
Example of what your points log may look like.
- Read through your points log and try to find the thing you think you should have earned points for.
- Limits
- Duplicates
- Quality & Moderation
- It's not been approved yet
- It's not something you can earn points for
Limits
There are daily limits on what you can earn points for:
Please note - You can still post more deals, you just may not get points for them.
I Wasn't Over the Limit and I Didn't Get Points
Please contact us and we'll review your account. Sometimes our system does make mistakes.
Why do you have a limit?
We have the limit to avoid spam. Latest Deals seeks to be a community of bargain hunters where we share the UK's best deals, discounts and money-saving tips. The points is to give back to our contributors. A way to say thank you. Unfortunately, if we lift limits we get lots of poor quality posts as well as spam.
Duplicates
To avoid duplicate posts we work on a first come first serve basis. If you're the first to post a deal you get the points.
If you accidentally post a duplicate (someone has posted it already), and it gets flagged, the post may be put into moderation. Your points will be deducted. You will receive a notification to let you know.
Please note, we also ask for a variety of deals. If your post is very similar to something you have recently posted, for example, a different colour, flavour or variety, we ask for those to all be put together into one post. It may be marked as a duplicate and your points deducted.
For competitions, please note we ask for all entry methods for the same competition prize to be listed under one post.
For more information about possible reasons your post was marked as a duplicate, please read our guidelines.
Quality & Moderation
Latest Deals seeks to be the best money-saving community. Quality is a big part of this. You may lose points if your posts are spammy, lacking information, or just generally crap.
If your post is flagged and put into moderation, the points will be deducted. However, if the post passes moderation and is published you will get the points again. For example, if you post a deal and our system thinks it is spam it will automatically put it into moderation. A real person (often myself) will review it. Usually it's fine and gets published. Then you get the points.
It's Not Been Approved Yet
There are many times when posts, reviews, comments, Chat threads are not published instantly. Instead, they get manually reviewed first. You may not be able to find your post etc., until it has been approved. And, you may not get your points until it has been approved. You should receive a notification explaining if it is approved or rejected.
I Referred a Friend and Didn't Get Points
Please read this help article for more information.
I Posted on Social Media, Where Are My Points?
At present, we do not give points for posting deals and comments on Facebook and other social media channels. We give points for posting on our website, LatestDeals.co.uk. To learn more, Get Started Here.
I Pressed 'Like', Where Are My Points?
From Summer 2021, you no longer earn points for pressing 'like' on a post. We made this change because we wanted the 'likes' on a post to reflect the genuine opinion and not be incentivised for earning points. However, at the same time, we introduced new ways to earn points, such as our points checklist.
I Created a Chat Topic, Where Are My Points?
From Spring 2021, you no longer earn points for creating a Chat topic. Rather, you earn points for a popular Chat topic. One that receives a number of comments and replies. In other words, you earn points for Chat topics that create discussion. You can see how many points you can earn here.
I'm Top of The Leaderboard, Where is My Reward?
Congratulations if you are top of the leaderboard! Once a month, when the countdown clock on the leaderboard ends, you will automatically receive a points bonus. You will be able to see this in your points log (which is at the bottom of this page, if you are logged in). If you have not received it and feel you should have, please contact us.
How can I maximise my points?
The best way to get as many points as possible is to post a varied range of money-saving tips. A combination of deals, vouchers, freebies and competitions. Don't forget, commenting and marking old deals as expired also earn you points! You can see everything you can earn points for here.
Why are my comments being deleted?
If you post the same comment over and over again with the intention simply to rack up points, we may delete them and you will lose those points. The idea is to contribute to Latest Deals. Please make your comments useful and varied.
You posted a deal but it got changed to a voucher (or similar)
If you accidentally posted a deal when it should be a voucher, or something similar, it may be changed by one of our Mentors. Our system is not able to accommodate changes in points for this. The points you earned will remain the same and will not change if, for example, it moved from a competition to a freebie.
There were no bonus points available in the Deals Round-Up
To learn more about bonus points available to claim in the daily deals round-up please read here.

YouTube Video Introduction to LD Points
Update - You no longer earn points for pressing 'like', but you do earn points for 'Rate' on the Latest Deals app (read more)
That's fair and don't think anyone would disagree. Also, the reward system based on point is very well thought out (once a poster claims all, he/she is no longer eligible).
I just wish I could help make LatestDeals more popular but I don't have a loyal fanbase on Twitter/YouTube to promote it and if I posted it on other forums I use it'd be considered spam (they don't permit members from having reference-type and ads on their sigs or else everyone would have).
I've just spent the last 10 minutes following people on Twitter in the hope of getting them to notice my profile which mentions about being rewarded on LatestDeals.
I want to tell people that they can be rewarded for their contributions. I know of a couple who already do know about this site though but because the user base is small they don't seem to want to post here, possibly because they think their posts won't be voted up or commented on which means they may not feel satisfied.
People are coming but it's going to take a lot of time.
SteveMate They probably think "You're telling me the users get rewarded? Must be some dodgy scam, I bet." I wouldn't be surprised if this is what they had in mind.
I posted three Android apps which allow to get free Amazon/Paypal credit (very satisfied with these 'cause it helps making Amazon orders cheaper) so it's really up to people whether they want to take the opportunity to check out LD and its posts.
Thanks for explaining how it works. I wondered how it worked before. I love finding deals and sharing them with people so whether I get points for them or not, I'm just glad to have found somewhere I can share the deals I find. Thanks for creating such a great site!
hi Tom I posted a freebie from the canal and river trust but no points were added that I saw but I haven't reached the daily limit and i'm not sure why ? - any ideas why
Oh I replied to your email before I saw this comment. Can you try posting a freebie as the first thing you do tomorrow, and if it still doesn't go up, to let me know here?
SteveMate Always a good reminder but this should be a sticky thread so it'd always be on the top.
I was recommended this site two days ago, was checking it out yesterday and have to say it is superb. I normally post deals on HotUKDeals but because the mods unfortunately were acting like dictators and the site is rampant with trolls and cold voters, I am definitely switching to LatestDeals from now on.
Hey Deadpooled thank you for joining Latest Deals it's great to have you a part of it. If you have any questions please just ask
Deadpooled Thanks for joining, buddy.
The staff on HUKD are definitely biased to which retailers they allow to be posted on their website, even if they're perfectly genuine they still can get rejected due to not making a comission out of it.
Hi tom ! I have posted a few today and realised my points stopped, now, having looked here I'm not sure it even allowed the 3 deals I posted initially, I understand why the others never went on now because of the daily limit but could you check to make sure I had 3 x deal please x
Hey dgrovessja the logs are showing you did indeed receive some points, but to avoid all doubt I've manually given you some bonus points Thank you for your contributions to Latest Deals, it's great to have you a part of our community
awww thank you so much, so new here but I think I'm getting the hang of it now ! sorry if causing you any problems ! thanks x
Hey smbrennan33 sometimes a post might be picked up as a duplicate over night and so you may have some points deducted. Appreciate it's not a nice thing to wake up to but unfortunately our automated system to detect duplicates before they're posted isn't 100% effective. Sometimes we have to manually check and adjust things after.
But because it's Friday I've just given you some bonus points
Well explained, i know how this works. Havent been on for a while so good to refresh how it works.......already had £5 voucher so working my way towards 15,000.
Love the competition section, fingers crossed
Thankyou Kelsey... totally understand now... I get a bit confused sometimes lol. its all these deals they make me dizzy lol xxx
Hey tom Just joined today how much is the maximum number of posts we do for points to stop as i think iv uploaded 4 deals and also had alerts about people voting but the points stoped at 380Is it supposed to be like that or am i doing sonething wrong thanks
can you save your points until you reach the highest amount or do you have to claim straight away ? thanks x (for future reference lol)
It is soooooooooooo slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww to get there.....still a lot to go to archive the next one
I posted 1 deal today went to do a 2nd and was told I was a bargain machine and that I had hit my daily limit, same thing happened last time (30/12/2017) posted 1 couldn't post a 2nd, anyone know why this is happening? Thanks and happy new year
Oh poop, I posted 6 freebies and only just realised there is a limit of 3 per day (first time sharer, got a bit excited)! I should have saved them until tomorrow! They all seem to be getting lots of likes though and I’m happy to be sharing them with everyone so I don’t mind really... Can I please ask though, is there a limit to the number of comments you can make / get awarded points for per day, or is this unlimited? Thank you!
Hey GirlieWhirlie thank you for your fantastic freebie posts. Please do keep sharing them! Our points are intended as a 'nice-to-have' little bonus of being part of Latest Deals.
Yes there are limits to points for comments, and there's also a qualitative aspect to it as well. Genuine, helpful comments are rewarded more.
Hope you're enjoying the site and looking forward to seeing more freebie posts!
Thank you for your reply - what is the maximum number of comments that we can be rewarded for a day please?
