Coach operator National Express and student discount company Unidays, have teamed up to help students get home this Christmas.
New research saw that one in six students don’t have enough money to make the journey home at Christmas, and that almost half will have to get their parents to cover the cost.
As terms are ending soon, the coach company can drive you home for Christmas for free.
To get a free ticket, students need to visit the Unidays site and register their details to be in with a chance of winning one a free trip home.
Those who are lucky enough to get a ticket will be notified on the 4th December.
Mai Fenton, EMEA Marketing Director at Unidays, said, “Money is always top of the list of concerns for our students. However, at the end of term with loans running out, and Christmas around the corner, we know that thousands of students across the UK will be worried about how they will afford to get home for the holidays.
“We’re delighted to be able to sprinkle some festive cheer this year by teaming up with National Express to offer hundreds of hard-working students the opportunity to get home for free.”
If you’re lucky enough to win, bookings must be made at least three days before your date of travel, and will be valid until December next year.
The offer is also only available online, and cannot be used in conjunction with other deals.
For students who miss out, Uniday and National Express are offering extra discounts of up to 40%, so travel will still be more affordable.
National Express Coach Managing Director Chris Hardy, said, “We know students are very cost conscious so we’re happy to work with Unidays to help get them home and back with their families at this special time of year.”
