Walkers Launches Six New Crisp Flavours for Its 70th Anniversary
- Limited edition flavours from each decade
- Includes lamb and mint, cheese fondue, and coronation chicken
- Crisps go on sale Sunday 18th March
Walkers is celebrating its 70th Anniversary by releasing six new crisp flavours, to celebrate the nation's favourite dishes from across the decades.
There’s a new flavour for almost every decade that the company has been around, starting in the 1950s.
The new crisps are: coronation chicken (1950s), roast lamb and mint (1960s), cheese fondue (1970s), chicken tikka masala (1980s), BBQ ribs (1990s), and sweet chilli (2000s).
Rachel Holms from Walkers said, “To have been a household name in homes up and down the country for the last 70 years is a remarkable achievement.
“We would like to thank the British public for the support that they have shown us over the decades, and are proud to be the nation’s favourite crisp brand.”
Although Walkers was founded in 1948, the 1940s is not represented in its new range, neither is the current 2010s as it isn’t over yet, but it would probably be avocado flavour.
The limited flavours will be available from Sunday 18th March, although some shops have released the BBQ ribs and sweet chilli flavours a few days early, so keep an eye out for these.
The normal range of Walkers crisps will also be sharing in the celebration by carrying the message ‘Celebrating 70 years of the nation’s favourite’.
